Foreigners unlike Singaporean do not need to think twice before visiting the casino since there is no levy. Nothing should stop both casino's customers from visiting both casino. Singapore is a small country and they are at most 30 mins apart only.

 

Mostly importantly is the current market sentiment on this stock.. that is key.. and not be swayed by personal likes and dislikes

I do not buy this Sands competition will be detrimental to GS.  Initially yes but actually positive in the long run.  To think they are cannibalising each other would be like saying Ion or Somerset opening is going to hit all the shopping centres in town badly.  As we can see, each will find its own niche customers and pple will go wherever serves their needs ie, I will go to Ion if there is something I need to get there or I will pop in to Somerset if I just happen to be around there.  But the great thing is that they all make coming into Singapore more exciting and there are more reasons to visit Singapore now.  When MGM built the world's biggest hotel at that time ie, more than 5,000 rooms in one hotel, the initial sentiment from almost everyone is how are they going to fill it up and concerns prevail then over what will happen to the rest of the hotels along the strip.  Well, they not only fill it up easily through the years but the hotels along the strip came to like the idea whenever there is a new development coming up to give another reason for regular visitors to go to Vegas to look see.  Otherwise, it is like a stagnant town and pple will go to where things are happening.  All of them get to benefit with more tourists/visitors from f&b, shows' ticket sales, gambling receipts, etc.  So, I am sure GS will get to benefit from Sands' guests in some ways eg, Universal attendance, shows' sales, f&b, and even gaming, if they drop into Sentosa, which I believe quite a few will.
