Hi Mani,

Not sure when you last traded using CPF but  the rule may have since changed.  At the moment, I am also using CPF monies to trade but there is no requirement that I must hold for one week. The only rule is that you cant sell on the same day of purchase ie if buy today, tomorrow then can sell.  In other words, no contra within the same day.

Previously, I have been using CPF to trade, but one has to hold for more than about one week

before one can sell, by which time the stock would quite possibly have dippd into consolidation... Smiley

I am trading just 1 std lot (10 minis lots) to make ardound 200 dollar aday. ard 150usd or just 15 pips. 50 dollar (1 mini lot) allows u to control $10,000 for minis and $1000 (1 std lot) for $100,000 (for std lot)

however trading 1 std doesnt mean u must sell at 1 time, i usually split 1 lot into 2  portions, meaning i can sell  half lot 1st  and the 2nd half later or vice versa.

next, for trend traders, Forex is ur heaven. most of the time, the currency will trend. just trading trend is enough areadi. with 10 currencies pairs to trade. there surely will have 1 - 5 currencies trending at any one day.

Getting tired with stock trading in singapore. i think i will be switching to trading forex soon. waste time trading sg stocks as movement is so slow and the commission eating abit into the profits. thinking it makes less and less sense to trade stocks when forex is so much better (to me).

maybe i just trade stocks with my cpf for mid to long term side dish. forex will be my bread and butter.

Trading forex is more flexible, 24 hours, low or zero comm, high leverage and instant order execution. can trade long or short at will. No BBs who can manipulate the market. except Central govt or Fed

Most importantly. there is no bull or bear to influence the market. Infact there is no bull or bear in forex. i just need to trade 10 pairs of currencies or less, no need to scan for data. Charting s/w is free.

NYSE which has 10 trillion traded last year pale in comparision to forex which trader at 3 trillion a day. yes! A day..

after working hours, just trade 2 hours a day from 10-12pm when UK go to US. enter ur order and go to sleep. next morming wake up see if executed or not. profit or loss.. (this is my personal pref which may not suit everyone and also there is a rollover fee incurred)

u will never need to worry abt opportunities as there is no such thing as good or bad currency. all currency can be good or bad depending on ur skill. every min or sometimes 1 hour, u will have good signal to trade.

I have been making around average 200sgd per day on winning days or lose $200 per day. overall made around $2000+ per month. based on sgd 10k capital. which is around 20% ROI per month. (not my actual capital amt). this 2 months i made around USD5000+ per month (areadi small areadi compared to my trader frens) as USD is on a idiot proof decline. pls note i just spend less than 2 hours daily (on mon to thurs)

At this rate, if God is willing, i am on a realisable path to make my 1st million within 2-3 years.

BaseerAhmed... :)

You are referring to the "10-Module Genie Tutorials" ?

Not only does that package contain a well presented and easy-to-understand tutorial on TA. It is a complete guide to long term successful market play. One can graduate to options trading later. I must say the coverage of Technical Analysis in the tutorials is better than any I have ever seen in terms of joy of learning....

This is one of the reasons I singled out this product to recommend...
I know many  will agree with  me this is an high quality guide.  Smiley

But hope they won't play those irritating (long obsolete) songs in the stores while I am shopping...

divergences spotted yesterday but gone liao with the move today by sti. 3650-3700 is a major resistnace, howevr if this bullishness prevail, it wont be a big hurdle to cross.

Better to just continue to "hit and run" like you did earlier... ie. no long holding...

Things are still not settled down... ie a bullrun is still too early to be confirmed... Smiley

need to ask for some advice here. was expecting sti to dip to 3470+ than rebounce to hit the major resistance at 3600+ region. however it seem sti not doing any retracement and going straight to test 3600.. what yah think. not entering the market yet as 3600 is a mjor resistnace

think so too, like the cfd accout for local brokerage, just do initial deposit and than  trade it. i am in midst of transfering my acct n my money  to saxobank thus my acct still have no money yet, cant really help u on this except the officer assigned to u.

i think u know it lah but just loh soh abit. as below:

when u trading with higher leverage cfd, the key to prevent huge lost is to trade smaller amount of $ as compared to those 5x leverage CFD or warrent.  for saxo's 20x leverage, to control $10k of stocks/derivatives u just need to use $500

next, u use $ for stop lost. etc. u will cut lost if the trade turned $500 against of u. personally, for CFD, i find % cut lost management dun work as well in long run compared to $ stop lost.

they got 3k mini trader acct too.

10k is norm becoz yours is pte trader acct allowing u to trade commodities which are relatively more ex than derivatives.

those 3k deposit for cfd in local brokerages only allow derivatives and equity. Saxo allows almost all vehicles to trade in. which i give it credit for.

their charge is not ex too. u can ask more when they assigned a officer to service u, should rcvd a email soon. welcome to join me at saxobank.

lastly their cfd is up to 20x leveraged. local only 5- 10. also their forex charges is same as those like fxcm, interbankfx

i m closing my online cfd acct(non local) to transfer $ to saxo.will keep my poems acct but transfering some money out to saxo too.
