In the absence of any external shocks, it should easily bounce above $19 from now to CNY but I also think the equilibrium level is thereabout $18.8 to $19.

Totally agreed. I think UOB is the best choice and the best runner among the 3 local banks..Ocbc has already runned up too much . Not much room to go up further.

Based on the current entry point, UOB at $18.10 has far more upside potential compared to OCBC at $9.94 which I reckon will not climb above $10 by a big deal.

As for DBS, it still has not recovered since the Dao Heng debacle but is starting to show some promise with the new CEO.

For the same $, I rather buy 2 lots of  OCBC than 1 lot of UOB.

It is year end window dressing and it will end in 2 to 3 days (31 Dec).

Please don't be hopeful.

OCBC went up 10% this year in line with STI.

DBS went down about 5 to 6%.

UOB crash almost 10% down since the start of the year.

There must be something awful about UOB to force all to dump UOB at all costs since Aug to Dec 2010.

But the silver lining is that the dirt cheap valuation may tempt OCBC (whose book to share price shoots up) or DBS to mount a merger or acquisition. This is prob the only hope you have if you are holding UOB.
