The only risk i think is the political risk like libya... project affected.. others could be minor as the core business is Water. An essantial resources for every living things... Long terms wise Good. Hyflux had a very strong backing by Singapore Gov. Hyflux will monopolise the desalination water market...
Preference shares - payment of dividends is not assured. (subject to certain conditions as stated). If Hyflux is not profitable, it may not pay for that period.
Investors should be aware of this. Investors are taking a risk on Hyflux. Compared to banks, Hyflux is riskier. Therefore dividends is 6% compared to 4.75 to 5.1% for banks' preference shares.
I have used all my life savings to apply for this, I dont believe in money falling from the sky until I see this..101% sure make!
this counter can invest for long term. once libya situation ceases, i think this share will shoot up!
Moreover, water is essential to every human beings...
6% is Ridiculous high rate - a  mistake by Hyflux or they are unable to raise funds?. Bank pay u below  0.5%. Expect balloting - very difficult to get.

6% of dividend per year is high... Bank dont pay you such interest.. so it is a good buy...
True in  a sense.. But in long term i am sure the profit will be much greater than the amount they loan.

Not really true... the current value of Hyflux is below valuation.. moreover, the option expired in 2018.. Singapore lease term with malaysia water had ended in 2011... so I forsee the hyflux share price will shoot up soon.. not to forget China another big consumer of clean water.
Issue $400m Pref shares @ 6% interest rate is very expensive to Hyflux - may not be good news!
Hyflux To Offer 6% Cumulative, Non-Convertible, Non-Voting, Perpetual Class A Preference Shares
Annoucement... but dunno what kinda announcement! All waiting...
Anyone know why Hyflux request for the halt ?

Hyflux Ltd  has signed a memorandum of understanding with Japan ’s Mizuho Corporate Bank which will set the framework for collaboration on global water business. The memorandum of understanding will enable both parties to explore various financing structures for water projects and for Mizuho to utilise its global customer network to introduce potential business partners involved in the water industry to Hyflux.
