SEMICONDUCTOR SECTOR
• Texas Instruments (TI), the world’s largest
maker of analog chips and a customer of STATS
(34.5 cents, unchanged) said that 4Q ending
Dec’12 sales will come in-line with market
expectations of between US$2.89-3.01bln as
stronger demand for mobile devices, game
consoles, e-book readers and automotive chips
offset weaker demand from the computing and
industrial markets.
• TI said that the inventories in the channels are
currently low and the company is shipping chips
very close to end market demand. If demand were
to outpace current market expectations during
the holiday period, there will be supply
constraints and could provide upside surprise
towards the later part of this year or early next
year.
• STATS is in the process of doubling their
production capacity for mobile devices to cope
with the robust demand projected to come from
this market segment.
• STATS’ share price hit a 3 year low of 29 cents in
mid-Nov’12 (the lowest since hitting its all time
low of 27 cents in Mar’09) before recovering in
the past 2 weeks to 34.5 cents yesterday.
• At this price, its market cap is S$760mln and
price to book of 0.62x is below its 5 year average
of 1x.
• We maintain our buy recommendation on
STATS.

Actually, if u hv read my previous posting during yr 2009.
I hv dot many of pple here instead...
I guess no free lunch in this world.. We pay to learn some times but there's exception.. Unless this person is philanthropist.. I'll donate my 30% of earnings to the unfortunate if I can learn something new from Bon3260.. (Which I think he/she will support my idea 100%)
