If you look at capitaland, they have rights issue too,but the price of the share climb back to $3plus now. Previously, before Capitaland has rights issue, Capitaland is about $1 above Kepland shares. Thus, kepland is definitely below value although it has climb to $2plus. It is likely that when Kepland XR, it should be trading at $2.20. Therefore, CR price should be $3.29 instead of current $2.87.
subscribing your entitled right could be done over teller machine , for me , uobKH so i am using UOB bank teller. So you will pay your right and then apply the excess right after applying the entitled rights shares.
Oh yeah.. So how am I going to go about doing this 200 excess? Apply to Keppel land direct?
I think this rights issue come at a very special moment... where the rally is happening and also some fear that it will soon come to an end...
Thanks for sharing.
Recklessfire, your understanding is correct .
One addition
information for you is , most people do not like to hold odd lot. So it
is advisable for you to apply 200 EXCESS RIGHTS, making your final number of shares to 4000.
Although there is no assurance of company approving tyour application of EXCESS rights, they give you high priority when they allocate excess rights, for your case of 3800, it is very high chance of getting the 200 excess rights , the excess rights had the same rights issue price of 1.09

I am still confused with this right thing after reading these post.
Take for example:
Bought 2 lots today on CR at $2.7 = $5400
During XR, Got extra 1800 nill paid share rights received.
Once Exercise, the nill paid rights @ 1.09 for 1800 shares cost u $1962.
At the end of the whole thing you will be holding 3800 shares at a a total of 7362.
Average out will be 1937 per lot.
Am i correct or did I misunderstand anything? Gurus please advise~
Thanks brother , I saw this trend in capitalland and chartered and find it weird so try on this stock loh ... but the CR is truly attractive esp when market is going up , where to find 1 dollar stock ?
now the weird thing is the mother of kepland retreat liao ... haha ... maybe people retreat kep corp and whack keppeland ? haha
really glad u ppl still holding, me sold long ago for petty gain..
really admire u ppl..this is one of the most fantastic counter ....i thk can cross 3.0 over easily next wk..
gd luck to all vested..

Right trading period is for people who are entitled to the right to trade or sell their rights. Assuming you are non CR holders. You cant sell the rights ( eg Kepland R) but you can buy them . The price of the Kepland R will be determined by the market!! it could be like 0 .60 to 1.20 and please dont assume that the price is that. You have to subsribe to this right through ATM and then pay them 1.09 again ... then you are given the rights!! Total price may work out to be same as what you may get from open market? if you buy here and do nothing ... your $ is gone ok ...
so please ask TR or people here if you have problem. My TR explain to me very clearly:) |

if that is the case why buy mother shares now at 2 +, just wait for rights trading period and buy at 1.09 or must we buy at market price during rights trading period and convert them to 1.09 value mother shares. I don't understand this rights trading period

KenSonic77,
What software are you using? Is it free subscription?
I'm looking for software which can provide every tick in minutes. So far I found none for SG market.

if you have sold the stock when you previously owned them, the CR will entitled to the one who bought them from you at a higher price. so that person will have the chance to purchase the right shares ( dont worry letter will be given to those entitled to the rights) . You gain some money by selling them fast. if you wait until XR date, the price of kepland will drop for sure and then you may feel sad. Erm ... you may want to know how to apply the right before you commit to it ya.. I believe there is already a kepland thread on right issue. go read them ya .. Remember if you make mistakes in this market , it is YOUR responsiblilty , SGX and your brokerage house will not bear for you... haha i learnt my lesson already. if got problem , ask your TR loh .... haha:)

Thanks Alligator.
when trading is XR, it means BUY without rights and SELL without rights
If i hold till XR, i will entitled to 9 nil-paid rights with every 10 shares. right?
YES
Can i sell my mother shares but i dun intend to sell my nil-paid rights. can?
YES, on and after XR date.
however you MUST then exercise your rights before the deadline, once after the deadline the rights become worthless
