sharks swimming around.
Normally, few people will suspect, or even believe, that the ocean can be a few miles deep...

Yes. I also agree with you on the different ball games. If a noob starts paper trading on this counter and sees that he/she is right at some points and regrets not going into the real market, he/she will be tempted and go into this counter without much thought and this is how one gets burned...like you said, before mastering the market, one has to master oneself, that's discipline.

I give you my support...  I have no doubt you will succeed as a stock player in the long run. I say that because you have adopted the right approach to the game. Whereas most people approach the stock market with the overpowering urge to only make money, they overlook the absolute need for good stock market education. preferring to. Stock market education is the only way to 'master' the market, as it were. But the reality is that in mastering the market, one is in reality mastering oneself, ie. one's own character.
Though the mechanics of trading are simple and easy to master, the psychological demands of the game are more overwhelmingly difficult to embrace. In this regard, paper trading is only useful for practising the mechanics. As far as the real dynamics goes, paper trading is useless. This is because using toy money to play the market is a world apart from using one's hard-earned money. Believe me, they are two entirely different ball games.

actually to tell newbies not to play stocks is not so encouraging. Instead, guide them to learn more first prior doing the actual trade, including just doing paper trading which costs $0. Read more books and strategies, identify your trading style that will suit your lifestyle so that you wont have to stand outside sgx or go into internet exchange every minute to monitor. While learning, in my opinion, it will be good if you are able to set aside at least S$20k for investing in stocks and ask yourself how much you are willing to lose from this amount.
Once you are comfortable with your trading style, then use your actual fund to play. That would be a good start to really try on your style of trading with a minimum loss and ride your profit.

ya.... the 50 sma has also cut below 200sma last few days ago (has maintain abv since last apr 2009).....technical indicators oversold but hey oversold can be more oversold...

My view is that any delay in Marina Bay opening will only
prolong GentingSp's downtrend.
And this is good news for those riding the downtrend. ..
