Same scenario as compared with other property stock when trading XR…
Today contra at 1.95… Out at 2.33
Now waiting to buy more at below $2.00
matthewsoh thanks for your replies and explanation.
i got the shares (at not too good a price) at 2.31...hope it can go up again to 2.4-2.6 tomorrow. cheers.
btw ... this stock can hit to very high during right trading period , a driving force to push the nil paid rights to very high also. I am not suprised if the last day price of nil paid right is $1.8 when the mother shares is 3.5..
Reason is that this counter has brother counters which has already trading in the $3.5 region .. like capitaland and CDL.
haha .. i told you :) the price is right ... so those who bought 1.9 , very lucky!! haha ...
When is theoretically the better time to buy Kepland ? 12 May when it trades ex-R or on the day the rights become converted to a share ?
Theoretically, I thought it could be when the rights have been converted but I may be wrong. Please help clarify. Thanks !
Hi guys, I got one question. If I just purchase some lots on 11 May, and decided to sell on 12 May but I am buying on contra. Will I still be issued with the rights?
Drop to 1.52 and let me collect more shares...
LOL

Glad to hear $20/lot. I'm looking forward to this day...LOL>
Anyway, i'm vested and told myself that this had hit $7 before in good times.
I'm contented with just this level of $7.
Don't panic, keep long term. Have a margin of safety, if it drops badly (say 10%), cut, otherwise keep long long...

Chartered and Capitaland did not drop to their theoretical XPs .. but the only fear is market sendiment :) But the price should RISE when the rights start trading haha....
So hold ... hold and hold by 2012 , kepland is $20 per lot haha..
today last day of CR.
tomorrow first day XR, price should be adjusted by dilution of share to about 1.99
Today's price closed lower than expected because of profit taking in the market. Nevertheless it could be good news to those who held to these stocks. Tomorrow may expect a slight dip to 2.4 and may go lower. However expected price to stablise at $2.8 during the trading of the nil paid rights share... and expecting this share to trade at 3.3 - 4 after dilution after news on how the capital could be used in strengthen the foothold in the asia market.
BMW showing that its worth a BMW pricing :)
tripled ur money if u had boought @ $1+
It all depends on the closing price on 11 May 2009 and the market situation.
You can buy the rights and top up another 1.09 to have it converted to ordinary shares.
Conversion ratio is 1:1

Senior Kensoni17, if the right trade at S$ 0.89 , cheaper to get from the market instead by at S$ 1.09 ? Right ?
Am I right to say that buying the right is between 12 May - 18 May 2009? Once get the right during this period , will it automatic convert to mother share later ?
I am confusing ...

I have sold shares and now waiting to buy the rights and convert them to oridinary shares. Hoping to get it cheap...
Key dates to take note:-
Last day of “cum-rights” trading of Keppel Land - 11 May 2009
First day of ex-rights trading for the Rights Issue - 12 May 2009
Commencement of “nil-paid” Rights trading - 19 May 2009
Last day of “nil-paid” Rights trading - 27 May 2009
Last day of acceptance and payment for Rights Shares - 2 June 2009 at 5pm (930pm for electronic)
Expected date of trading of Rights Shares - 12 June 2009
Those who hold Keppel Land shares at the of market day on 11 May 2009 will be entitled to the Rights.
Each existing shareholder will be entitled to nine RIghts Shares at an issue price of $1.09 for every ten ordinary shares of Keppel Land that they hold.
For example if Keppel Land trade at $2.78 (today’s price) on 11 May 2009, the theoretical ex-rights price on 12 May 2009 will be
(2.78 x 1000 + 1.09 x 900)/1900 = $1.98
Based on a price of $1.98, the Rights should trade at around 1.98-1.09 = $0.89
Shareholders will have these options:
1) Sell off their Rights at the prevailing market price
2) Pay $1.09/Rights to “convert” all their Rights into ordinary shares
3) Pay $1.09/Rights to “convert” all their Rights into ordinary shares and apply for excess Rights Shares
4) Pay $1.09/Rights to “convert” some of their Rights into ordinary shares and sell off the rest of their Rights
- It will be cheaper to buy the rights when it commence trading on 19 May 09.
- Conversion ratio is 1:1
- If ("rights price" + 1.09 is less than or equal to Kepland price) then it is cheaper to buy rights than shares. The commission ypu pay for rights is cheaper than you pay for the shares.
