i think $5.79 is a modest gauge. capitaland has far more potential than that.
Citigroup raises CapitaLand target price to $5.79 from $5.44 on higher assets under management target of $25 billion, higher surpluses from residential developments in China. However, keeps at Sell. Says stock trading at FY08-09E forward P/E of 20X vs market's 2008 P/E of 14.3X; estimates Capitaland's ROE will be around 7%-7.5% vs market average ROE at 12.8%. Expects core earnings to be relatively flat over next few quarters; notes project sales unexpectedly slow. "The stock remains relatively expensive despite the recent sharp price correction. We think there is better value in the other listed property stocks in Singapore even though we think the absolute downside to the stock from the current price is limited."
CapitaLand acquires approximately 61.9% of the total strata area of Sungei Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia for RM595 million (approximately S$250 million)
Forms third seed asset for proposed pure-play Malaysian retail REIT with a total asset size of approximately RM2 billion (approximately S$840 million)
CEO sold off at price range around $6.7 to $6.8. Since then, this counter slipped till now.
This counter is one of the favourites among fund manager. Thus, there will always be buying.

Perhaps its fund manager loading up. But DOW is very red today. So this counter can still be grabbed at a bargain below 7.
My ideal price will be $5.60.

Come Monday, the stock will correct accordingly to the market.....shoring up last minute by 14 cents is very substantial....
Moreover, property sector is slowly but surely feeling the impact of credit crunch globally...

The closing transaction of 4,439,000 pushed the price up by $0.14 to $6.08. Does anyone know why such a big transaction? |

CapitaLand outperforming market, other property heavyweights, possibly as viewed by investors as more cushioned against property market slowdown. CLSA says in note recent Singapore property market data showed "signs of recovery," as both new launches and unit sales rebounded. Broker says too early to call turnaround, developers are lowering prices, but CapitaLand better placed than most; "we believe it is more insulated vs its peers in terms of NAV exposure to a Singapore residential slowdown." Maintains Buy rating, target price not given.
Recover most of yesterday lost....will it spike down tomorrow???
