alamak !! I forgot to mention sembcorp twin power. utility adx (12days) abt 22, meaning kiv can consider take a look when 25 and at 30 if the trend is still intact, enter and exit at abt 40. marine happens to be held at 30 days ema for the third times alredi. first 2 times proved to trend up. history always repeated right, adx at abt 25, meaning can consider to take a look. as long as 519 is held today and hopefully closed at 523 or higher during pre closed matching, the uptrend is still intact. not so greedy this time, tgt 535 to exit. If good then 540 on public interest to oblige.

Hercules mulling new rigs

Rig owner Hercules Offshore has confirmed it is considering entering into a fee-based management contract to operate two new 400-foot, high specification and harsh environment jack-up rigs for delivery in 2013.

Subject to negotiation of contractual terms, Hercules would also invest up to $10 million in cash but would not incur any debt or further financial obligations. The other party was not named.

The Houston-based contractor said in a filing today to the US Securities and Exchange Commission that it is “currently considering alternatives” for a “fee-based management contract to market, manage, crew and operate” the jack-ups.

The units would be built in a fabrication yard in Singapore, possibly Keppel Fels or Jurong Shipyard.

Hercules cautioned, however, that there are no “assurances” that the negotiations for the management contract would be successful.

Hercules has been struggling to get more jack-up rigs back to work in the Gulf of Mexico.

Out of 25 jack-ups deployed in the US Gulf, 14 remain cold-stacked.

Goldman Sachs, citing an article Tuesday in offshore & marine industry journal Upstream, says Petrobras (PBR) may cancel the two rig package within its giant tender, due to higher-than-expected prices, in which Keppel (BN4.SG) is widely considered a frontrunner.

GS says the news “may appear slightly negative for Keppel, but this does not impact our estimates as we have not factored in any PBR-related order wins for Keppel.”

Instead, the houses sees this as positive for the O&M sector, “as PBR could move to contract existing rigs to fulfill its drilling needs. This would drive rig utilization up, which could potentially stimulate non-PBR newbuild orders.”

It adds, positive feedback from U.S. drillers further supports its view that a deepwater recovery is going to happen soon. GS expects the market to look past the slightly negative PBR news for Keppel, rated Buy, and focus on the industry’s strong underlying fundamentals. The house’s top O&M pick is STX OSV (MS7.SG), rated Buy. Keppel is up 1.2% at $11.58.

as usual, ang mios(exclude australia) report not accurate one esp from iea. nowaday, usa consume less oil. world largest oil comsumer is china and india. heard that iran oil export was not reflected in opec. iran supplied oil to china but not so sure for india. opec is shorting oil speculators that jack up oil price that would hurdle real economy growth.

Agreed, temporary setback as long as market sentiments overall positive.

I'm pretty confident that the price will continue its upward trend, barring any exceptional circumstances.  All things seem to create a conducive environment for a general price increase - high oil prices, recovering economy, start of a new year, expectation of a good final dividend and the fast-approaching Chinese New Year.  Am staying vested.

OSLO, Jan 3 (Reuters) - Norway's Seadrill said on Monday it would acquire two ultra-deepwater semi-submersible drilling rigs, sending its shares higher. Shares in Seadrill rose 1.9 percent to 201 crowns in the opening trade, outperforming a 0.8 percent rise in the Oslo stock exchange benchmark index <.OSEBX>.

Seadrill, one of the world's largest deep-water drillers, said the total project price for the two rigs is estimated to be about $1.2 billion and the firm said it has secured new bank debt to finance the investment. Seadrill chairman John Fredriksen said in a statement that the cash break-even cost per day for each rig was expected to be around $385,000.

"The Board anticipates that the purchase of the two rigs including the agreed financing will strengthen Seadrill's dividend capacity going forward," Fredriksen said. The two rigs, which are currently under construction at the Jurong Shipyard in Singapore, are expected to be delivered in the first quarter and fourth quarter 2011, respectively.

With crude at its highest price in two years, overproduction allows OPEC members to boost profits without formally changing output targets.

An extra 1.934 mmbd at $80 works out to a nice “informal” $56.47 billion boost.

OPEC's been lying... That's nothing new.

What's important here is to note the willingness to extract as much as they can as prices rise.

Analysts, start your engines

If the price of oil creeps high enough, OPEC will officially raise its target to cash in.

$100 seems to be the obvious trigger to make that happen, and the consensus is that it will happen this year.

Oil's at $91.43 as I write this — up 30% from the year's low.

Goldman says it'll “average $100 in 2010 and $110 in 2012.” JPMorgan says we'll see $120 by the end of 2012.

Adding to the pricing fire, U.S. stockpiles declined by 19 million barrels this month thanks to intense cold and holiday travel. That's the biggest monthly decrease since December 2006.

I'm sure you've noticed gas station marquee numbers are back on the march.

It explains the future of drilling for hard-to-get oil, and the one company that will make shareholders rich as it unlocks billions of barrels worth of unconventional reserves.

Call it like you see it,

Nick Hodge

Dear Wealth Daily Reader,

I'll make this short, sweet, and very profitable.

Oil is trading at a 26-month high...

Pump prices just broke the $3.00 mark...

And the International Energy Agency recently declared peak oil production has already passed...

This is what we've been writing about for years. And as predicted, the profits are already rolling in.

Any exploitable oil reserve is about to be worth its weight in gold. And companies with the technology to get that oil will be worth even more.

One of those companies is featured in our newest Peak Oil video.

It has a lock on a new drilling technique for oil shale that's already caught the attention of some of the biggest oil majors around.

Good Investing,

Brian Hicks
