Since STI moves above SMA (20) on 16 Feb, it has been staying above SMA (20).
This is an indication that the downward trend had reversed and we are at the beginning of an up-trend.
This is a good time to accumulate some good stocks.
However, you still want to be selective with your buy. Some stocks are still un-predictable, like Genting SP.
So Happy Investing.
Sure? then buy more lo !

Trend la, direction la, chart la, up biased, down biased, bear la, bull la,recession la, depression la, double tops la, double dips la, recovering la, going into recess la, and what have you la, are not exact sciences. Don't go and crack your heads over them. Because if you think you want to master the knowledge you only get more crazier. They are just rhetorics to justify something unknown.
Just trade with whatever skills you find better to make money.
chances of double dip in my personal opinion is not likely. however there are still risk in the market. we are experience a growth out of recession without significant decrease in american jobless rate. the current growth we seen in the USA or round the world could be a result of massive stimulus across the world. what if once govt around the world withdrew stimulus?
china already signal plan to slow economy to curn inflation. major debt problems in euro zone. american debt problems, commercial real estate in USA could be the next big thing to hit.
just trend carefully. we are definitely not out of the woods. how singapore market turn out depends on how the rest of the world cope their problems.
To me, it would be great if it were just a "double dip"...
Which implies a double bottom formation... and that's great for future growth!
But what is more fearsome is a prolonged major downtrend...
Which is not too far-fetched, if you ask me...

What matters more is the bigger trend.
A reversed shorter-term trend may or may not be a reversal of the main trend...

The trend can be real frightening,
because no one expects or believes it in the first place...

when the big bad bear comes, no one can stop it...

i only know that if this year, if u guys want to see STI 3000, GDP must at least 6%.
anything below 6%, market is going to fall.
well, 4-5% stil can hold
if GDP 2-3%, then maybe u see 2200
1-2% then 2000
well, if negative GDP, hmm...1800 to 1400?
hmm..maybe

So you are at an advantage...

The world economy is now unlike previously...
It is in a precarious state in which a bull market is already unimaginable.
Thus downside is a more probable outcome...
