Chong Wee Lee, a DBS Vickers analyst, expects higher margins for future charter contracts with the new acquisition, as it provides access to an experienced team of industry veterans.
"This allows KS Energy to move up the value chain with an expected shift in future contracts from bare boat charter to higher margin time charter," Chong said in a research note.
Chong raised the price target to $4.19 from $4.15 and kept a "buy" rating on the stock.
Hi All,
Will this benefit Sin Soon Huat?
AOS owns an accommodation jackup rig, which houses offshore oil field workers, and has contracts to manage one drilling jackup rig off the Danish coast as well as a land rig in the Middle East.
"The oil and gas equipment and services market generates sales of about US$250 billion annually. With this acquisition we see ourselves having more access and getting a larger share of this market," Wiluan told a briefing in Singapore.
KS Energy's first jackup drilling rig -- designed to stand on the seabed on retractable legs -- is under construction at a shipyard in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, for delivery in '09.
The rig is a jv between KS Energy and two Middle East partners, Amwal Al Khaleej Investment Co. and Maritime Industrial Services (MIS).
Wiluan said that KS Energy's oilfield services division would be headed by John O'Leary, a former president of Houston-based drilling contractor Pride International after the deal.
Thanks for the info. One of the broking house has recently raised it TP to $4.18. Given the great fundamental and expansion, it should move toward the TP. Ezra is traing ard 5.90 and Semb Marine is around $4.38 plus..Hopefully KS will join the rank of $4-$5 dollar stock.
is that the reason why KS dispose Ezra to acquire ATLANTIC OILFIELD SERVICES? hmm....
long term shd be a good investment
It said it has bought Norway's Atlantic Oil Field Services (AOS) for US$80 million. It has plans to take AOS, which rents out rigs, private as the company is currently listed over-the-counter in Norway.
"The acquisition of AOS will springboard KS Energy onto a new platform of growth," Kris Wiluan said, adding that the group's geographic reach will expand to Europe, Africa and India. The company has operations in Asia and North America.

Goldman Sachs has lowered its tp to $3.60 and kept a "buy" rating, citing slower progress in getting new refurbished equipment contracts in Indonesia, but added it likes the firm's expansion plans into the Middle East.
