gen sp is red mainly due to the the global panic selling
cnbc reported yesterday's djia 1000pts drop as technical error.

I think that depends on how long you want to keep this counter as investment. Short term... I think $1 will be quite good. But if you are willing to keep any longer than I supposed the decision will be based on what CEO of Genting SP is doing. To me if they start declaring dividends for this quarter and stop issuing rights for now then for it to stay above $1 will be very realistic. If they can declare dividends quarter after quarters then this baby will be really good to keep as the darling of STI.
I might be very wrong but the way I see it... Gen SP went from 0.35ct te 1.32 all based on hoped that it will bring in good profits for this unknown industry in Singapore. All nothing but HOPES. Therefore it fell equally as hard when this HOPE vanished as investors start doubting them if they even have enough money to run this multi billion dollars venture especially when they decided issuing RIGHTS after RIGHTS to boost their cash flow. To top it up, when they announced widening loss from UK operation and MBS is cutting into their shares of the pie, all hell break lose.
If Mr Lim can reassure investors that profits are in hand, and easily achievable and sustainable, (which I think it gonna be- this May 13th) it should have no major obstacles for Genting SP to reach the blue chip status in few years time.
Ha ha just my wish n hope on this counter. Wish me luck (Need some winning from this counter to beat inflation :p)
This morning itchy hands went in to buy 93.5 cents. I bought 10 lots. Wish me luck. );- Is it too dangerous to go in today when people are in a state of shock? My thinking is tonight wall street will move up, but if it doesn't then I think stock market may become a dead place to put my money in, right? I am learning, so please give good advice.

True, this counter has long correction post CNY and nothing much to fall already as the impact from MBS is very minimum. In fact, wondering whether the price may stand at or above $1 after the 1Q report. Frankly speaking, if it reaches to $1, it is very confusing whether keep to hold or sell it because may hardly to buy at cheap price below $1 anymore as all the major negative impacts are gone...

that is only true if you are trading this counter hence looking for volatility. For those who are interested in investing n have a longer horizon then it might be a different case. Just my take on it ..... hee hee

This is one strong counter as of the last few days ...... correctly said .... gone are the panic sellers...... lets hope it stays this way
