You all like to punt on earnings is it? No need to wait till 13 Aug, everyday there's earnings announcment.

Rotiboy! How's ocbc? Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Tmr morning got property earthquake, Crapland's results will be out pre-market hrs. Will it rise from the grave or  continue its journey  Down The John?

I better spend more time here typing  today rather than click 'buy' or 'sell' buttons. Nonetheless today is a  huge day on sgx, opportunities aplenty to win big or lose big time. Lol!!

I think STXOSV is ok lah.

In fact, I was expecting this correction when STXOSV could not cross $1.58.

Brought mine at $1.50, 2 weeks ago and still holding.

I would have sold if I think it's not good.

As long as price don't falls below $1.44, the uptrend is still intact.

When market starts to move up tomorrow, I believe SYXOSV would follow.

abit too early to load in....

but if today stx forms  a hammer(there is a good chance since a lower tail seems to be forming up) and tomorrow a bull candle, then it may test 1.58 resistance again....  so buying now is not exactly a bad decision. it could turn out good..... good luck muifan!

If you would recall CNY, it rallied on the eve for 3.5 hrs only. The prophetic  CNY rally  took place but  effectively a v short lived bull trap. After we came back from CNY break, it was downhill the entire month. Why?  Most funds  do not track performance on a monthly basis,  2nd month  in the quarter is hardly subjected to scrutiny by clients. Its normally the last month  of the quarter that matters most.  I'd only  asked eastcivic before  whether there will be a  National Day  Rally, not that I meant there will be one.

Depends on Wall Street actually, Fri night there will be non-farm  employment report. Today  there'll be ISM July key  services data. Mid-week weekly jobless claims numbers.  If economic  figures keeps throwing up negative surprises, the White House can come out anytime & 'talk' their way of seriously deliberating add'l stimulus with QE3 to stop the bleeding on Wall Street momentarily. All events are highly speculative in nature, do you really wish to be part of this onslaught or rally?

Who has  the answer

US credit rating agencies' are load of crap. just before lehman popped, they graded it the highest rating.

Read this:

Chinese rating agency cuts U.S. debt again

Move unlikely to affect markets, even in Hong Kong

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) — Chinese credit-rating agency Dagong Global Credit Rating Co. on Wednesday again downgraded U.S. sovereign debt and warned of further such moves, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported, though the action was unlikely to affect markets.

Dagong cut U.S. Treasurys to A from A+, with a negative outlook, saying growth in U.S. debt is still outpacing revenue growth.

The latest move followed a Dagong downgrade of U.S. debt from AA to A+ in November, citing the launch of the Federal Reserve’s second round of quantitative easing.

“The agency said the approval to raise the debt ceiling indicated that there will not be any positive changes in factors that will influence the country’s debt-paying ability in the long run,” Xinhua reported.

However, the move was unlikely to impact markets, even in the Chinese financial hub of Hong Kong, given the lack of reaction to past Dagong ratings actions.

“At this stage, [Dagong ratings are] not widely a focus of concern,” said Conita Hung, head of equity markets for Delta Asia Financial Markets in Hong Kong. “I don’t think it will have a major impact on markets.”

She said that in any event, the flailing economic recovery in the U.S. and Europe are generally of more concern to Chinese markets than are the credit ratings. Read more on Chinese reactions to U.S. credit ratings.

An Agence France-Presse report noted that Dagong’s chairman is also a paid adviser to China’s government, though the firm insists it is fully independent.

The news came the same day as a Xinhua editorial said the U.S. had failed to defuse its “debt bomb.” See report on Chinese state-media comment on U.S. debt.
