For long term investor... there are many other counters that offer better return... SPH has no other drastic grow after Sky@eleven ... unless it redevelops Paragon into a Megamall and convert its HQ into an Office reit..Just my personal opinion..

Can consider accumulate should price fall below $4.20...3X its NAV. This is one of the best defensive stocks available under current turbulence market conditions. Where to put your money than?
Don't think that will happen within this week. The stock has been holding very well till now. Other stocks fall quite drastically but not SPH. Just my view.
SPH dropped to $3.88 last year. With a barrel of oil going up to US$140, there is a possibility of dropping beloe $4.00. Hold your breath

now is totally diff ball game leow, with high CO hike lately. market gloomy loh. hold the horse first.
S'pore Pension House (sph) enjoys a near monopolistic position which many people likes. It also pays decent dividend relative to fixed deposit. For dividend player, it is of import to figure if sph can maintain/increase future dividend. If one feel it can, then any further price weakness is a good entry point. On the contrary if it can't, then one is better waiting for it to bottom.
When it come down to say $4.24, I believe the company will restart the buy back again...the last times it did was a few months back.
How low do you think SPH will drop? DJ dropped more than 350 points on Friday.

SPH is a good dividend stock.
If it drops lower, I may want to accumulate.
hmm $4.27 liow, interesting :)
If SPH hits a low of $4.27 - the Count Back Line shifts significantly lower and hence the "activation energy" for a technical bullish reversal to the 61% fibo level.
It currently sits on a fibo extension support.
MACD signal line is flattening, MFI is skipping along 20% oversold region.
standard disclaimer & warning to trade with care applies (vested.)
IMHO, SPH is poised for a technical rebound towards the longer term moving averages. Analyst talk of price increase (last @ 1994) and increased ads with telco number portability.
This slow heavy 'prime mover' is good for dividend play...

Diversification is good for better revenue?

At least they are doing something new...
Can see this isn't a new initiative by them. Last year they've tried by fail to buy over the organiser for car/pc shows remember?
From selling newspaper to selling properties ... now event management ?? next ??
What is the core competency to make money?
