ly19688, you can buy anytime from now until Aug 7 to enjoy the dividends, but you must hold until  August 11, and you can sell on August 12 to take the dividends.

guess 3.80-3.90 could be the TP, as you can see previouly once it touched 4.00, it couldn't stay long.

Ok! this should temporary provide some comfort/support to shareholders/prices.

Final dividends of 6.9cts(tax exempt) will be paid on 28 Aug 08 if approved by shareholder meeting(shouldn't be a problem).

Last cd date will be 8 Aug 08 by 5pm.

DBS Vickers trims target price for SingTel (Z74.SG) to S$3.75 from S$3.98, based on sum-of-parts valuation, after lowering Indian associate Bharti's (532454.BY) FY10 earnings forecast 6%, which in turn cuts SingTel's earnings forecast 2.5%; "while Bharti should continue to be the main growth driver for SingTel, we do not advocate premium valuations for Bharti due to the onset of new competition and adverse regulatory actions in India." Says SingTel management under pressure to invest in emerging markets to deliver on its guidance for double-digit earnings growth in medium term. Keeps Hold call. Stock flat at S$3.62

Hoho! I tho CMCC or CML is going for a stake in ST....look at what happen now? Have they the financial muscle to take a stake in CT? Not unless with the BB tamasick's involvement again! Just look at  its price again....haha! weaken and become volatile again. Good for trading!!! Ah! Luckily i got rid of some last week at 3.7x......now waiting to collect back.

SINGAPORE (Thomson Financial) - Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (News) is considering investing in China Telecom Corp., (News) a fixed-line operator in the mainland, although formal discussions between the two parties have not started, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing unnamed sources.

China Telecom needs cash to expand the mobile phone business it is buying from China Unicom Ltd. for 43.8 billion yuan ($6.3 billion), according to the report.

'SingTel has the money to invest. They have been eyeing a substantial investment in China for years,' a source familiar with the discussions told the newspaper.

A spokesman for China Telecom said the company was seeking a strong strategic partner and has been approached by a number of parties that he did not identify. SingTel declined to comment if it was talking to China Telecom.

SingTel, 55 percent owned by Singapore state investment company Temasek Holdings, holds stakes in mobile phone operators in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Pakistan and Bangladesh. It also owns Optus in Australia.
