Chang Beer is not popular in Spore, not sure other areas. Teck Whye only sell Singka, never see elephant bland beer or its promoter in kopi tiam.

Credit Suisse upgrades Thai Beverage to Neutral from Underperform, noting stock has priced in market share loss after 14% correction over past month. Expects company to benefit from consumers switching to cheaper alcohol as high inflation dampens consumer spending; "ThaiBev's large portfolio of spirit and beer brands are concentrated in the economy segments, geared toward rural consumers and market share loss should stabilize in 2008." But cuts FY08 earnings forecast 7% to reflect higher labour costs, other rising expenses. Keeps target price at $0.23.

The alcoholic beverages producer said that it had held talks with Thai authorities to seek a local listing. Thai Beverage said that the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) is ready to allow the filing for listing. It will, however, have to consider the law on liquor and the fact that there could be resistance to the listing in certain quarters.
Phatra Securities, the financial adviser for the firm's listing on SGX and the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), confirmed the move. It said that the process might not be completed before 1Q08 and added that protests against the move may arise once again. An SEC official revealed that if Thai Beverage submits the filing, the SEC is ready to consider it.
Thai Beverage had in the past submitted its filing. It was however revoked as there were complications stemming from the liquor law. Besides it was resisted by some groups of people. Though the law on liquor has been considered by the National Legislative Assembly, it is not in force right now. Moreover, the resistance among certain groups also needs to be examined so that the problems can be resolved.
Phatra Securities touched on the modalities of registering Thai Beverage on the SET. It said that the process would have to await the law on liquor, which is likely to be enforced over the next 1 or 2 months. Meanwhile, there is hope that the resistance will decline.
Thai Beverage clarified that the dual listing is still under consideration.

this is a stock for day traders. buy half cent, sell half cent. High vol but price movement is pretty slow. good business though!

Thai Bev's 1Q results were in line with our expectations. Net profit grew
13% on the back of an 11% growth in revenue. The increase was largely
contributed by a 16% growth in beer/water sales and a 7% growth in spirits
sales. Overall gross profit margin dipped 1.5ppt to 29.5% due to a larger
contribution by beer/water, which enjoyed a lower margin vis-à-vis spirits.
Gross margins for spirits also declined by about 3ppt to 35% due to the
decline in white spirit sales which has a higher margin than brown spirit
sales. Lower marketing expenses and interest cost (as the Group reduced
its debt from its IPO proceeds) resulted in a 13% growth at the bottomline.

The sleeping beauty drank too much alcohol - drunk in the past despite many Research Reports recommending it, the same with Delong when it was at 11cts (Delong) it stuck there for months, watch out for this one. It is indeed a SOLID company, like APB, CocaCola, F&N, real cashcow company.
At 28cts, it is trading at PE 14.56, its closest peer i could think of is APB (Asia Pacific Brewery) is at $15.40 at a PE of 29.9, what a hidden-gem, guess WBuffet would favor this counter much, if he knew,...... in my opinion only.
Another very interesting factors is the Management Team is very aggressive in to grow the company through M&A, buyout, penetrating new markets, diversification into property sector, et. The sack back i noted is the political environment in Thailand, anyway, even in that situation, alcohol, cigarette, gambling is a temptation to daily living in this life, meaning business continue to prevail.More informatyion, click:

It plans to acquire Chinese spirits manufacturer Anhui Guijing Group for 980 million yuan (US$126.8 million).
Standard & Poor's Rating Services said on Tuesday Thai Beverage's proposed acquisition of the entire equity interest in Anhui Guijing Group "would benefit the firm's business profile and would be in line with the company's medium- to long-term strategy of expanding its business outside its domestic market in a measured manner".
