Don't look down an industry forever. Have to continue monitoring it and find if it is recovering and get in with bottom price.
Ya. There are few issues are on going in the container liners shipping companies which are moving toward more protectionism to the liners themself.
As such, even though under very bad economic environment in Europe and container volumes are stagnant, the freight rate still can maintain higher than 2011 which the economic environment was much better than now.
We really can see the sincerity that All these big container liners operators are moving to profitable direction instead of unlimited expansion with their fleet, especially Maersk who took the lead to raise freight rate, they owned the best efficient fleet but take the lead to raise freight rate since March 2012 is very good job. Till now moving to low demand season, the freight rate still stay at breakeven, slight profitable or slight loss level depend on the operation cost cutting of each liners.
i hope this freight rate can maintain till 2013 March. Then start in April till Sept 2013 which are traditional peak container shipping seasons which can hike the rate to even higher level and prevent over-expansion of fleet.

Bunker index go high due to oil price raise to 92 dollars but till below March 2012. As per current bunker price and freight rate, the container liners can only breakeven or loss a bit or profit a bit.
As I mentioned previously, NOL record their quarter report 1 to 2 month late. So the coming 3Q quarter report will be Mid May to Mid August. This is where the freight rate stay high and bunker oil stay low which I mean the high profit margin period. So 3Q quarter report will be 100 to 150mil profit for NOL. I don't know how the 500mil operation cost cut that announced by the MD from Temasek in end 2011 is going to benefit in this Q. I hope it does, at least the profit will stay above high side which is 150mil or even higher.

Today transaction look good. More weak sellers sold their share today and BB accummulated more. The volume is only 1/3 of 3 month average. Seem like a lot of weak holders don't have confidence with NOL. 2 weeks to go on 25 Oct which are 10 trading days.
Don't know if any sell down will be done by BB within these 10 trading days to chase more weak holders away. However, 1.105 is considered a cheap price to buy in. Whoever expect to buy low can try but low chance.

as a retail investor, i hope its not high- volume uptrend selloff for any counter, a low vol high px surge early wld let most of the seasoned ri to unload n move on to another counter,,
wen bb has lotsa share n able to reconsolidate their position, px could go side n px rally r draggy, im moving on to nas/nyse a bigger playing field for both players, any recommendation from anyone?

Midas doesn't look good today. Hopefully, it is just action to chase more weak holders out. Have to be patient and wait long long...

My call is more on remind to buy since there are so many share in SGX. You still have to do homework and find a target price to exist and take the money on hand.
Market change fast and must response fast. Sometime, I run road and post here but you are not here. You gonna trap also no good. I set target price at 1.3 to 1.4 but if the market trend so positive and I see strong interest from BB from transaction, the price is at 1.3 to 1.4, I want to take the risk and I will not tell you since it is personnal risk that I would like to take.
It is same as to cut and take profit.
So I insist to buy call at bottom and give positive news continually till I feel no confortable.
NOL show good today. It is also good gonna kick out by STI top 30. As such, NOL don't really need to follow STI to go and just go the direction it need to go.

I thought I call buy today morning. No other than today since US is so red last night, good chance to buy low. My friends bought at low 1.095. He is save now. I bought 1.105 yesterday, now is 1.115 to 1.12. I am safe. It depend on you if you want to bet US red tonight. If not red, then, I think no more chance to load below 1.11 or lower. Only left 2 weeks to 25 Oct, very close. I believe a lot of people are same as me will load and bet for the good coming result in next 2 week.
