When financial analysts make a buy call, they ask
you to buy so tat they will be able to sell to you.
e.g. 10 financial analysts will have different views.
They come from different schools of thought, hahaha

They have a certain very special grey matter
in their brain to enable them to think differently.
Just like bionic eyes, they can see long distance
in which you and I can't, hahaha

Genting Singapore: BUY (upgrade from HOLD); S$0.975; Bloomberg Code: GENS
Explosive start
Price Target : 12-Month S$ 1.20 (Prev S$ 1.07)
1Q10 net profit beat our and consensus expectations
Junkets could commence operations in 2Q10; steady-state ramp up by
early 3Q10
Raised FY10-12F earnings by 6%-59%; upgrade to BUY (from Hold) with
raised S$1.20 TP (from S$1.07)
Strong underlying profit marred by impairment. 1Q10 net profit
(ex-exceptionals) came in at S$82m (1Q09: S$9m net loss), driven by maiden
contribution from Resorts World Sentosa (RWS). RWS raked in an impressive S
$109m EBITDA (33% margin) despite operating for only 1.5 months, not fully
ramped-up, and without junkets’ help. However, this was partially damped by
S$478m impairment loss related to its UK operations (largest to date).
RWS casino is ramping up slowly, averaging 300 tables (1/3 VIP, 2/3 mass)
and 1,200 slots, but should reach a steady state by early-3Q10. VIP/grind
split was c. 50-50, while daily win/table matched Macau’s US$8,400
(Malaysia: US$6,000) - although we believe this should ease as more tables
are opened and with competition from Marina Bay Sands. RWS offered rebates
of 0.7-1.4% of rolling chips (vs Macau’s 0.6-1.1%).
Potential catalysts. RWS expects junkets to commence operations in 2Q10,
which should help drive the VIP segment, albeit lowering margins. While
non-gaming operations only constituted <10% of 1Q10 revenue, this should
increase with the ramp-up of Universal Studios (new ride every 6 months,
potential 30k visitors/day vs current self-imposed 5k), and hotels (85%
opened). Development of Western Zone has also commenced with targeted
completion by end-2011/early-2012.
Upgrade to BUY, TP raised SOP-based TP to S$1.20. We raised FY10-12F
earnings by 6%-59% after factoring in: (i) higher daily net win/table (US
$7,300) and slots (US$300) for grind segment, and (ii) lower proportion of
junket VIPs (50:50 in 2010F; 60:40 for subsequent years).
I am waiting to buy more...
Fair Price: S$0.88
