TA charts look bearish for this one.

Price cut below bollinger band and Acc/Dist and Chaikin heading south. All bad signs.

Below appeared in 3 Jul 08 .today's DBS warrant watch. But unfortunately I myself bought at $3.51 yesterday.
SingTel- Technical Analysis
SingTel had been bound in sideways action regarding the short-term and intermediate-term time frame. This Tuesday, the stock violated support of the lower confine of the range at 3.60 on a closing basis. At this level also a longer-term up trendline was coming in. This breakdown triggered a sell signal with a potential downside target at around 3.20-3.30. There is minor support at yesterday’s close at 3.52. Potential pullback rallies should face resistance around 3.60. In order to generate a buy signal towards the resistance area around 4.00-4.05, a decisive surge above key resistance 3.78 is needed.
Strategy: Traders may prefer short-positions especially in case of a pullback towards around 3.60. Protective stops may be placed just above 3.67 then. Long-positions may be considered again in case of either stabilization around 3.30 or a break above 3.78.

I am a chart enthusiast but no expert. Just my observation for comments by the experts:-

1. The price fall is very close to the 400d EMA (Exponential Moving Average) and this cud trigger a short term rebounce.

2. On the other hand there is a descending triangle with the support at $3.60, which has just been crossed, and this shud trigger a price fall to as low as $3.20.

What wud prevail? 1 or 2? To buy or to short? Any help?

My guess is a possible small rebound. 3.57 has been tested 3 times recently, and Singtel is likely to act as a counterbalance while the banks and other high mkt capitalisation stocks crash more during the bear run in view of its slightly defensive nature.

Having said that, i think there's no need to pressurise oneself to engage a trade on Singtel if there is much uncertainty. Let its price action speak for itself.

To crash to $3.20 may be a bit difficult as it requires some catastrophic market crash event to trigger that normally.

SingTel Raises Stake in Globe
By CRIS LARANO and P.R. VENKAT
June 30, 2008; Page C5

MANILA -- Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. said Friday that it acquired more shares of Globe Telecom Inc., the Philippines' second-largest telecom company by sales, from longtime partner Ayala Corp. for 141.4 million Singapore dollars (US$103.7 million), boosting its stake to 47.34% of Globe's total common shares, up from 44.47%.

Even so, an investor-relations officer at Globe, Bobby Gayanelo, said the increase in SingTel's stake won't violate the legal limit of 40% foreign ownership in a Philippine telecom company.

He said the equity structure of Globe comprises common and preferred shares, with the common stocks accounting for only 45.6% of total equity. The preferred shares, which make up 54.4% of equity, are owned by Asiacom -- a holding company that is 60% held by Ayala and 40% held by SingTel.

could be as there was no other significant issues to affect the coy. moreover there is no adverse news on the AGM notice sent in this week.

DJ now is in red hot, worst following the trend, if someone volunteer to submit resignation letter owing to some issues. Alamah, July coming ah, jinx????
