A classical case of severe indigestion.
Remember NOL's acquisition of APL years ago. But anyway, the CEO at that time got promoted to chairman for his 'honest mistake'.
beware of the falling knife...
Today can see that the shortist get burnt, fierce sell down to scare off the buyers and end up cannot covered back and got to die die buy back at pre-closed @ $1.31.
This fundamental stock don't play play cos their reputation is always very reliable and transparent to investors.
profit guidance? hmm.. sound like "soft profit warning" for me.
OSIM International Ltd (Reg No : 198304191N)
Business Update and Profit Guidance
The board of directors of OSIM International Ltd would like to provide shareholders of the
Company with an update on the performance of the business prior to the announcement
of the unaudited consolidated financial statements for the year ended 31 December
2006.
For the year ended 31 December 2006, based on preliminary estimate, we expect the
group profit after tax to be lower than the S$46.7 million achieved in FY2005 by
between 20% and 28%. The consolidated financial statements for the year ended 31
December 2006 are currently being audited and the audited figures may vary from the
preliminary estimate.
The main reasons for the under performance are:
1. Despite positive same store sales growth in 2006 (an improvement over the
negative 8% in 2005) and stronger EBITDA for Brookstone Inc., interest expenses
at Brookstone Inc and at the joint venture OSIM Brookstone Inc. resulted in losses
at OSIM Brookstone Inc.
2. Unsubstantiated product claims by some local marginal players in North Asia in
third quarter 2006 triggered sanctions by the authorities and negative reports in
the media. The resultant negative public sentiments caused a temporary
slowdown in the overall industry which spilled over into fourth quarter 2006. In
addition, we had to increase our advertising and promotional expenses during this
period to counter the negative public sentiments.
The directors are optimistic of the Group?s performance in 2007 and believe that the
short term under performance will progressively correct itself during the current year as
the Group executes its profit growth plan by:
1. Continuing to improve the quarterly performance of Brookstone Inc., and
consequently the performance of the joint venture OSIM Brookstone Inc.;
2. Launching new range of innovative OSIM products. New products launched in
Asia in first quarter 2007 include our Designer Massage Chair uPilot and Power
Drum Massager uPapa;
3. Continuing to capitalize on the profit growth momentum at Global Active;
4. Opening new OSIM, Brookstone and GNC outlets around the world;
5. Continuing to expand the OSIM international franchise.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, the Group expects profit after tax for the financial year
ending 31 December 2007 to be higher than for 2006.
The Group will release its consolidated financial statements for the year ended 31
December 2006 on 22 February 2007.

yeah, maybe the 4Q results are bad?
wow, this one is really tua lao sia.... not vested better stay out first man
yeah, down to 1.27 low.. FA guru, please advise when the sign of reversal happens, don wanna miss this meat ....
better avoid this stock for the time being; selling not done yet. wait for recovery first. I dont think it will shoot up anytime soon.
yeah, 1.30... hmm.. is there any sign of reversal?
Still gradually downtrending.... be cautious
OSIM recently also has a place in the world's prestigious Harrods.
Hi all;
Anybody know can advice when are they going to release their 4th q result ?
Procrastinating whether it is a good entry price. :D

lucky168, I once have the same idea as you.. But if you travel around the world, and see OSIM shop located at such a place, like Taipei 101, you will know actually they are still able to survive, well.. It is a great company (why I know? because...... cannot tell la..), with great leadership.. If consider a long term stock, management level must be strong.. that's just my opinions.. Anyone know when is their 4Q results? maybe we should buy after the 4Q results, I am not sure their 4Q will be good ... probably flat gain as the 3Q results sucks.
why buy into something which no longer offer profit visibility?
linger on to past history is the likes of human nature...
Anyone know their FY 2006 predicted results ? It will be announced in Feb. I did run througth their last year reports.. It shows a gradual upside for 6 years. I am not sure FY 06 is a good year for OSIM. As the recent trades, Ron Sim purchased 700 lots @ 1.646 in Nov 06. Thats not a lot anyway.
but then, with the price of 1.37, it's quite attractive, making a U-turn anytime soon after the results announced? TA chart showing downturnds though.. any comments? For a year investment, will this fellow fly to 2 again?
Still on gradual downtrend
One can say bull power, too... hehe... coz it's a rather gentle rodeo ride !!!
iGallop runs on horsepower! Haha!
Hope the public knows it's just the 3rd party batteries and not the products.
Anyway, fortunately the iGallop doesn't run on batteries, otherwise, it would be such a pity to lose sales on such an ingeniously innovative product... hehe.. :)
