Agree with Ozone. Huge volume increases with large price drop is definitely a bad sign.

SJ FOLKS, this article  might be interest of yours,

Published: February 15 2009

Hedge funds are facing a second round of redemptions after several big
investors hit by Bernard Madoff's alleged $50bn fraud began liquidating
portfolios, according to some of the world's biggest hedge fund managers.

The scale of the redemptions is not as bad as the heavy withdrawals that
hammered the industry in October and November, but is significant enough to
create problems for managers still struggling with the hangover of last
year's withdrawal requests, they said.

The head of one large US hedge fund said: "For those hedge fund managers who
were wiping their brow and saying they're through the redemptions, Madoff is
a new blow.

"It is another wave, for a different reason."

Hedge funds were hit by redemptions estimated by Morgan Stanley at 20 per
cent - close to $400bn - in the second half of 2008, with another 10-20 per
cent to come by the summer. This forced managers to dump shares, bonds and
derivatives to raise cash and contributed to the wild swings in some assets
popular with hedge funds over the past few months.

Hmmm.... actually if you delayed your job entry by a couple of years by doing Masters, you might have a starting pay that is higher than you had after working 2 years. It really depends on the job market at that time and if the power balance was biased towards the employee.

Budget - better than nothing lah....

I only pity those youngsters who are graduating this year. It will be very hard to find job.

Last time, I graduate during the Asian Financial Crisis. I managed to find a job but the pay was so-so. A year later, when the economy improve, a fresh grad got hired with same pay as me! Pissed off siah...

Can you share why you are feel disappointed with the Budget 2009. Indeed I'm very grateful to S'pore Government. What more!!!!!! GST Double, 20% Personal Income tax cut, Property Tax plus all those Utilities and HDB Conservancy Bills.

In my opinion, This is a very good Budget and i can't expect more than these as i always do not rely to S'pore Gov to Spoon Feed my family.
