STRAITS ASIA RESOURCES, CHINA XLX, INDOAGRI: What analysts say Written by NextInsight team Thursday, 09 July 2009 Excerpts from analyst reports: Straits Asia Resources recently traded at $1.60 UBS maintains ‘buy’ on Straits Asia Resources We maintain our Buy rating for Straits Asia following our revised coal price estimate for 2010-13. We lower our price target from S$2.80 to S$2.50 as we increase our 2010 target PE from 8.4x to 12.7x following a lower risk-free rate from 12.8% to 11.5% but lower our 2010 EPS estimate. Our revised thermal coal price assumptions accounts for 95% of the total net earnings revision. We highlight that the effect on Straits Asia’s earnings is negative relative to its peers as we have previously factored in a higher coal price to account for high-priced contracts. This followed SAR’s US$230m refinancing last year, as lenders required the company to contract future sales in order to provide earnings security. However, in the meantime it has been necessary to renegotiate select contracts in order to maintain customer relationships. Consequently, we reduce our average selling price estimate by 16% for 2009, while increasing our quality discount assumption slightly to account for a higher production output from the lower calorific Jembayan mine.

Already mentioned in my previous post that energy & metal commodities will take a break till Sept coz all, esp china already piled up the inventory. But cheong think otherwise. The support is around $1.56, if drop below then can start loading and dump in Sept.

Hi posting here doesnt mean that SAR no good.  Just my finding about general trend of the market.  for those day trader today should be ur day but dont stay till after lunch.  KepLand should be good.

SAR is going into correction phase currently , the 55MA at $1.53 will provide short term support , but basically it has already fell off the PENNANT formation n head down , if this is confirmed break down , then the next supporting pt. will be $ 1.44 . Hope to rebound to make unloading .

 

wow at 1.58 now !! again mkt is BEGGING me to buy !! :P i think there will be more BEGGARS in SGX these days ? :P

Seriously guys, no one in the right mind would believe such an absurd claim by newtothis. He is entitled to his opinion. You just need to condition your brains to sieve through the information. For every long, there's a short position.

 

Hi Fellow forumers.

I had mentioned tat I had decided to quit posting till those forumers tat brazenly instigate buy/sell calls, posts rumours, half-truths, emotional posts tat incite greed and fear are banned by admin.

My stand still holds but just excuse me for once, to reappear to give support to el7888 for taking the initiative to petition admin to remove such pests for the betterment of the forum and not degrade the forum and to safeguard newbies and gullible forumers from falling prey to such undignified postings.

el7888, include me in the petition.

Bye for now till such pests are removed and totally banned, including their ip address and hope they dun reappear using another nick, a leopard can never remove its stripes.

I will still quit if they reappear should I resume once they are banned.

I will definitely resume my postings and sharing once such pests are removed forever.
