SIA to seek compensation for delay of Airbus delivery. Does anybody know why much are they talking about?
It continued to advance as crude oil prices stayed below US$64, which could help cut fuel cost of the flag carrier, dealers said.
"Every US$1 drop in fuel price will boost our SIA forecast earnings by about 3%," said Citigroup, which has a "buy" call on the stock.
UOBKH, which also advises a "buy" on SIA, said a 1% decline in fuel prices would translate to a 2.2% increase in its estimated earnings for the flag carrier.
Based on its current estimates, UOBKH expects SIA's net profit to grow to $1.75b in the year to March 2007. Net income is projected to rise further to $1.93b in the year to March 2008, and to $2.38b in the following business year.
KE says it has resumed its coverage with a fair value of $16.40 because it expects the carrier to continue to post strong profits.
"Despite high jet fuel prices being a constant drag on earnings, SIA's passenger loads and yields (partially boosted by fuel surcharges) have been more than enough to offset this," KE said in a note to clients.
The brokerage expects SIA to post a net profit of $1.59b for the financial year to next March, 29% more than the year before, boosted by a one-time gain of $223.3m from the sale of the SIA building here.
"Excluding the extraordinary gain, earnings growth will still be solid, at 9.9% yoy," KE said.
The brokerage said the current softening of fuel prices meant that in future it might be able to increase its forecasts of earnings for SIA.
Consolidation px is coming soon then later. SIA is seem to drop again tomorro due to airline stocks slammed in US.
