HAZE OR NO HAZE, GAMBLERS WILL STILL FLOOD THE CASINO! BUSINESSES NOT AFFECTED!

BUSINESSES AT ALL OUTDOOR ATTRACTIONS AT RWS SHOULD ALSO NOT AFFECTED BY JUST THE COUPLE OF DAYS OF HAZE!

WHAT SAY YOU?

You might might say I am silly, but I assure you that what you are thinking is right.   From years of knowledge, yes, it is more profitable to gamble at the casino than at the stock market.   In casino, you lose what you could, but in stocks you lose what you might not even have.   That is the losing story. But when comparing profitability and risk, CASINO is better in reward ratio, and less riskier than the stock market.   MHO. But I don't know how to gamble because I don't understand the games at the casino, eg. bacarat, pairs, etc. But in gambling there are people who made millions but it is only those who know how to stop after making the millions to retain the millions of dollars they won.

I wonder if it is more profitable to gamble at a casino than to speculate in the stock market.

I also know him. Ball bearing biz.

Has he finished serving his sentence?

I also know a businessman who won in baccarat for more than a million.  In the second year he was still up but in the third year he was already in negative territory.  He is smart obviously or he wouldn't be able to build up his business until listing in SGX.  But not that smart because he lost so much later and got tempted to dip into company funds.  He was caught and jailed.

I hope this young and inexperienced grad would not think he is so good at gambling that he can make a living of it.  His claim of being a maths and stats graduate is doubtful because a maths and stats grad can calculate mathematically that in the long run, the house will win!

I make $6K monthly at  Casino NUS graduate

Confession pages on facebook are now the rage. Here's STOMP's choice of the confession of the day.

Today's confession features an NUS student who makes $6,000 every month just by gambling at the casino.

Here is the confession in full:

" Before I start my confession, I would like to inform that those strongly against gambling may ignore this post.

" I graduated last May. Although I was educated in one of the more famous schools in NUS, I did not find the job I am looking for. I did get offers now and then during that 3 months job search period after graduation but none really enticed me. Being very interested in stats and math and of course gaming, I decided to take out my savings of $50000 and start an unconventional business.

" I paid $2000 as sunk cost for the annual $2000 casino levy at one of the two IRs and used the remaining $48000 as my capital. Each time I enter I bring around $3000 as my capital for that trip. If I lost everything, I will come back another day. Absolutely no chasing back of losses which can easily lose my whole $48000 bankroll.

" I played a particular game I love and am very good at. Since the first month, I had been making $6000 every month. 3 nights each week.

" Total 12 trips per month. 1 trip I win $500. I'm now enjoying my life. No worries, only excitement. I visit the casino at around 8pm just when the whole CBD starts to get deserted and leave casino at around 8am in the morning, just when everyone goes to work.

" It felt really great but of course, self-control is key. Know when to stop while winning, stop as a winner!"

Sin stocks are stocks of companies involved in the distribution or production of alcohol, tobacco, weapons, or gambling. Some people might not prefer to invest in such businesses as they find it unethical and argue that by investing in such stocks, they are helping to fund the wrong activities the companies are engaging in.

On the other hand, sin stocks can be deemed as recession-proof businesses. People may cut back on superfluous spending like buying of luxury goods during an economic crisis but this does not necessarily mean that people will drop their bad habits during difficult times. In fact, people may be inclined to smoke, drink, or gamble more to “escape” from the hard realities of life during such times.

Sin stocks are also usually proven businesses with very stable free cash flows and high dividend payouts.

Genting Singapore owns Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore and it operates the casino there as well. Genting’s debt is 16.6 times its 2012 net profits. The dividend yield stands at 0.8% and its PE is at 27.6, as of the close of June 25th 2013

UOB Kay Hian maintains Sell with $1.17 TP. House continue to expect Genting SP to deliver weak EBITDA trend through 2014, albeit the seasonally slower 2Q13 EBITDA should improve meaningfully from 1Q13’s dismal level of S$250m, as win rate normalises. GEN SP continues to be dogged by difficult industry conditions – sluggish mass-market and VIP patronage. House trim 2014 EBITDA forecast by 4%.

While all attractions at GENS have remained open through this crises, visitation to its outdoor water park has dropped. Credit Suisse notes outdoor activity (20% of revenue) may suffer for as long as the haze lasts.
