Good karma.
Perhaps LTA takes a bigger portion of the 900 mil maintenance cost.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has fined rail operator SMRT $2 million for two major disruptions last December.
The penalty - $1 million each for the Dec 15 and Dec 17 incidents on the North-South Line - is the maximum penalty under the Rapid Transit Systems Act.
In a release, the LTA said SMRT had failed to 'exercise due diligence and vigilance expected of a public transport operator, and to maintain its network in good and efficient working condition'. It added that its internal investigations had found that both incidents were preventable.
The authority said it will continue to work closely with SMRT to implement the Committee of Inquiry's recommendations.
It will also work with the rail operators to put in place a 'more holistic and robust framework' for maintenance issues, so problems can be detected and fixed early.
The $2 million fine will be donated to the Public Transport Fund to help needy families with transport fares.
On Monday, SMRT continue to trend sideways and closed at $1.705 with LOW volume of 0.7 million shares traded.
A rising window occurred (where the top of the previous shadow is below the bottom of the current shadow).  This usually implies a continuation of a bullish trend.
Both RSI & MACD are flat as RSI trend sideways.
Important Resistance of SMRT: $1.715
Immediate Support of SMRT: $1.68

I worry the recent up trend just to cushion the effect after the investigation report made public.  Till now, still no idea on how SMRT and LTA share the 900 mil maintenance cost.

Circle Line's faulty cables to be replaced, SMRT not at fault

At least SMRT siam this one.
Most counters drop after XD, as the money that is paid out definitely directly impacts on the value of the company. Also, don't expect any major good news now and a significant expenditure is expected for use in fixing all the recent faults and physical deficiencies for the MRT tracks and such. Also, retail space in train stations is pretty stagnant, though a good source of additional income from stall rental. to me, by my still-in-the-process-of-learning TA... price still has room to drop to at least $1.57.
Ichimoku: 9d conversion is well below 26d base and both are downtrending. Cloud has a medium band with downward bias.
ADX (14d): at 40, shows the current trend is strong. Current trend being a gentle downward movement on price.
However, Bolliger band and stochastics indicate that there will be  a small rebound in the near future.
Whatever the case, DYODD and BOSAYOR! If no sudden major bad news from Eurozone or the U.S., or no major natural calamity... the above should bear consideration. Conversely, if some local altruistic billionaire decides to pay for all the repair work for the SMRT c**k-ups... well...

This counter will languish in the lows due to unpromising future and uncertainties.
Not a good counter to risk longing, at least not now...
If it goes below 1.60, many will dump and short...
Maybe many have already done so...
