When we say betting (in the stock market), we don't mean blindly betting as in a casino.

We must insidiously study the technical picture first... only then should we place our bets.

Thus, we don't just bet anyhow... some call it 'skilful' betting.

But it is still a bet...
Then, we must be ready to dump it quickly once the signs show we have betted wrongly.

This is the way to 'trade' the stock market.
Thus, 'trading for a living' is really 'betting for a living'...  hehehe... Smiley

The last few days were holiday season. Even the forex market was quiet.

Volatility dropped a lot. I think activity will pick up again in January.

Skillful betting is still betting on pure luck.

I prefer to trade on technicals, which is really based on skills

You are right...

To start with, one must know one is betting...
Then one should bet systematically to win...

Holding indefinitely with hopes of a turnaround on solid fundamentals' is certainly not
systematic betting... that is 'investing'... hehehe... Smiley

Bet small win small, bet big win big...
Bet small, how to be rich fast?
But one must always remember, it is really only betting...
Thus, if your bet is wrong, dump! ...Smiley

i think it is a matter of time the currency gets even. and hard to predict given the recent volatility

usd was 1.52 to sgd the other day, 2/3 days later it was1.42 then now it is at 1.46. Pure speculation

think the moneychanger in chinatown must be on their toes all the time.

Singaporea, it is the best time to travel in Korea... the exchange rate shot up almost 60%... from 1 SGD = 600 Korean Won to 930 Korean Won..... that's so good.... if it can break 1000 korean won, lagi bagus... so, exchange some Korean Won and travel Seoul like a King or Queen..... I am planning a trip to Seoul... heee...

It's good to mention that SGD vs JPY getting much weaker now... dropped 25% !!! oh no, not a good time to travel in Japan...~

Typical example:

When one has opened an account & started trading, he makes some profits. He goes on to make more profits.

He buys/sells more and makes a little losses. He decides to buy/sell a bit more to make up these lillte losses.

But ended up more lossess. He tops up more cash in order to make more trading.

He makes profit a little at a time but still has more losses than profits.

At the end of the day, the winner is the trading company and agents and..... those rich people who can wait for the bulls or bears and do cost averaging.
