I bought this counter many, many years ago at 67 cents. Subsequently, subscribed to the rights issue and average cost is 45 cents. Like Liverpool, I queued to buy at 35 cents but not successful. Last Friday when I noticed the surge in price, I jumped in to buy at 42 cents. Very shortly, trading halted. Not sure if I am considered lucky or unlucky......
This counter has been moving up since my post on 3 Oct.
It has interests in engineering as well as shopping centres such as White Sands, Jurong Point and Kovan Heartland Mall and property developments such as Centris.
It is controlled by Indonesian businessman Putra Masagung. Salim Group?
NAV @ 3Q 06 is 46cts per share.
YTD eps is 1.4cts
volatile counter... but on uptrend i think
look at recent takeover...
brilliant nav0.265, takeover price 0.41
first eng nav0.56, takeover price above 70
GES nav0.36, takover price 120
anybody know the actual latest NAV?
Business Times
Shares of Guthrie GTS jumped as much as 19 per cent to a 52-week high of 46.5 cents yesterday on rumours that it is a takeover target by a group of investors.
Salim Group took a 10.49% stake in the company at between 31cts to 32 cts...announcement on 13 Nov 2006.
Think they may be negotiating a general offer.
well, it may be too late.. Dun chase the stock--- simple thumb rule..
So is this a good counter to buy when market opens next week ?
Didnt expect it to go up so fast, i actually wanted to buy @36 last week. Missed it. This will definitely cheong on Tuesday, first day 2007
If based on recent acquisition price of First Engr and Brilliant, then this GTS might be worth much higher than today's closing price ?
I also believe the buyer will pay a premium above the NAV...
NAV is around 46.5, so if somebody interested, that means he should be paying at least 20% higher than NAV. So price around 55 is achieveable, let's see it cheong to that next year....
Closed at 0.46,
Some one interested in a take over, any comments??
Halted today. Wat happen? Price now all time high also. Must be good news...
still lagging behind others; nav = 45cents
