LMA by cl
- LMA is an industry leader in innovative airway management devices (IAMD) used to assist patients with their breathing during medical procedures. Only around 35% of US and 17% of rest-of-world (ROW) procedures involving general anaesthesia currently use IAMD although it has superior attributes to and fewer complications than the traditional endotracheal tube (ETT). Four volume growth drivers should see LMA deliver 10-15% annual profit growth over the medium term.
- A global leader in IAMD. Around 35% of the 21 million procedures under general anaesthesia in the US use IAMD, of which LMA has an estimated 99% market share. In the ROW market, LMA has an 85% share in the 17% of 100 million procedures that use IAMD. In 9M06, net sales were up 5.4% in US 7% in ROW over 9M05 figures.
IAMD intrinsically superior to traditional ETT. LMA's IAMD products compete with traditional ETT which, particularly under general anaesthesia conditions, have various drawbacks such as cold sores and abrasions, and can cause death in rare cases with some medical conditions.
- Strong defensible IP base. Competition exists primarily from ETT manufacturers driving efforts to modify existing products. However, LMA is a pioneer with a strong proprietary IP base and patents at multiple levels, that is, for products and sub- components. It has also acquired IP for the moulds and associated tooling used in the manufacture of masks. It recently won an injunction against Tyco Healthcare in the Netherlands for patent infringement of its LaryngoSealTM masks, and filed for patent infringement against AMBU in the Netherlands and France.
- Attractive growth prospects. Industry sources indicate the overall global market for airway devices is expected to grow a modest 2-3% annually in 2006-08, in line with the growth expected in general anaesthesia procedures. However LMA holds a higher 10- 15% growth potential from four factors: 1) continued switching to IAMD from large existing ETT user base, 2) increasing trend towards single-use products which have a higher cumulative profit versus multiple use that are typically re-used around 40x, 3) the company.s marketing thrust to increase distribution coverage for ETT conversion in existing markets and 4) plans for expansion to new high growth markets like India and China.

The brief rise to 0.56 yesterday seems to be just a rebound along the way. So do be exercise extra caution with this trending phenomenon.
HiHulumas and all LMA investors
Must thank all the operators for not continuing with the bloodbath on LMA. If the bloodbath continues, LMA larynxgeal masks may have to be used in operations to save investors hit by "shock". LMA can't be a "dying share", right? It is not in a sunset industry, right?

Dear Moneymatters,
The storm is finally over. We shall get the entitled rewards hopefully!!!
famous last words .... expect the unexpected
Maintain a cautious stance on this one... may not be out of the woods yet.
Dear Hikitty,
Finally, I select not to buy neither to sell, but to trade daily, till the results come out. Thank you.
Hi Hulumas Sr
As LMA is unlikely to be wound up, don't be gripped by FEAR to SELL them as its price dips due mainly to contra play. Doing so will mean falling into the hands of operators (who may also be reading the postings on LMA) who could have been collecting the shares from the "contra players" Once the contra players realise that they are unable to make kopi $$$ on LMA, they will move to other counters, and the price of LMA shd stabilise. Have PATIENCE, that's all you need..

应该买或卖呢?"] - Hulumas
Like they say... "You ask me, I ask who?"... hehe...
(ni wen wo, na wo wen shui?)
Hi Singaporeregal Elite- u're indeed marvellous and caring with your TA input. Though it's on a downtrend, million thanks to the operators for sparing a thought for others by not continuing with the carnage (or bloodshed). Is LMA such an underperforming share, compared to penny stocks?
On downtrend
Dear iPunter,
应该买或卖呢?
I'm thinking that if i buy when its falling, then suddenly if it rises again, the % increase will be great too. Of course, when we buy low, a decrease or increase will mean high % gain/loss. Double-edged sword.
Since this stock (LMA) has not demonstrated a reversal pattern yet, it is always possible for it to trend even lower.
If it falls 0.05 each step of the way down, it can translate into significant losses, especially when one averages down as it falls.
Since the market's upward charge appears to be weaker now than say, a month ago, it is entirely possible that a market correction, if it happens, will make this stock fall even faster. Just a word caution.
Thanks for the info hikitty. If this year's AGM is held in S'pore, I think I'll try to make an effort to go. I have not been to an AGM before.
Oops, Raffles Hotel is in Singapore.
