I have no doubt this counter will move up eventually....
Anyway, this is a value stock and hope everyone here will make a big bucks! The REITS outlook is still bright as long as economy is doing reasonably well.

FYI, I vested some in OCT this year.

Yes ... this is a value stock. "Longer" timeframes are needed for the execution of value investment strategies vis-a-vis stocks that are more volatile. While there is nothing to suggest that a stock trading at a discount cannot realise it's full value in a very short timeframe, it is very rare occurrence admittedly and hence waiting can be the toughest part.

Stocks with greater volatility are better for trading and there are better stocks than AllcoReit for trading purposes. Having said that ... I've observed AllcoReits charts for a while, and it corresponds to TA quite while. Out of curiosity ... when did you buy AllcoReit? I hope not in Nov as there was no buy signal at all.

This counter is just too unpredictable...i gave up when i made great losses within 1 month during correction in Nov.

Whoever invested in this counter really need a long investment horizon.

Have no idea what's behind the reasons too. But take heart if you are a value investor. Such the recent price movements are short term in nature and investors with a longer horizon need not bother. It's the timing that eludes us for now. Just need to be patient and wait - which is many cases is the difficult part.

Some sell force today, but low volumes. Suspect by punters who were betting that the price of AllcoReit to shoot up.

A good news is the purchases made by two directors of AllcoReit - news avail in SGX.

Now to wait until the intrinsic value is realised.

An omitted point ... of the $800M+ in terms of acquisition cost made by AllcoReit, about 30% is invested in Japan which is likely to witness an increase property prices. Can buy and hold for dividends as well as capital gains in the mid to long term.

I'm not sure that the move to halt the offer was one that could be expected. Need a crystal ball ... But this event has revealed a few insights.

(i) AllcoReit may have over-stretched itself just a little bit,

(ii) AllcoReit does not need the extra capital generated from the offer of new shares (recap IPO $1.8B and acquisition cost till date $804M),

(iii) Decision to pull the plug was taken at the 11th hour (seen from a director's raising of stakes by 2.5x) taking into account prevailing market conditions.

I share the same opinion as s5504703 that this is a good move. The optimism also stems from an evern steeper discount to NAV now that the stock has been sold down over the last few days. There's no need to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Guess it's a correct move for Allco Reit with the current market situation. Everyone is $$$ tied. Having preferential offers will only drive the price down. It will not benefit the investors. Guess it will have to raise capital through other means. Smiley  Still a good buy below $1.00

Well, its expected. Since they announce this preferential offer, the market jeer it and drive the stock down 15% less which mean they are getting 15% less money. Personally, I don't like company asking money from me. If a company have capital problem, they should solve it on their own instead of asking investors for money. When Eastech got into trouble, they never issue shares, cum rights, cum offer, or some other trick to get money from me. Lately, a lot of companies are asking more money from investors. I really don't like the sight of it. Investor's money has no interest, no strings, and no what so ever attached.

Hard to say up or down tmwr for sure as it depends on Dow tonight etc. But suffice to say that we were caught flat footed. At the price of 86.5 cents, AllcoReit is trading at slightly over 50% discount to the previously determined NTA of $1.30.

Most like up tmwr but given the volume of shares on recent down close days, it might take a couple of weeks for the share prices to recover. The dividend yield is looking good!
