SingTel is testing IPTV, as possible competitive product to Starhub. SingTel also compete with Starhub to bid for EPL broadcast license. For Starhub, to win or to loss, it also has to pay a high price. Winning means cost goes up. Losing means loses the clusters of consumers. Really need good news from Starhub to make the difference. Sigh....

Presumely support level at 2.11 indicated by iPunter below.. Not to forget, XD yesterday, so may have to discount a further 3 cents? Worst still, SingTel is having good news after one and other. Starhub has none.....

I thought the trading window is so narrow. Moreover, this is much affected by itself, but also its competitor, ie, SingTel. If SingTel does well, impression is it will not.

Starhub.

In fact 4 weeks ago, the warning signal was already given when prices went down through the support level to 2.11 and then subsequently 'broken' back into the support line again and remained there for 4 weeks ( !! ) until this week, when it broke through a second time.

On the question of dividend, I think if a stock is going to fall, what good is the measly dividend? The drop in price would probably be many times more than the dividend saved. :(

From TA viwpoint, this counter has been on the downtrend since before the announcement of the results.  The opportunity to sell is the morning after the result @  2.23 or 2.24. [me  sold @ 2.23 taken some profit]

From TA viewpoint again, is heading south. And for FA viewpoint, the prospect is dim because of Singtel entering into Starhub arena. .....

If xd is on 20th Nov, Mon, then you can only sell it on Mon, 20th. Anyday before that (eg 17th), you'll not qualify for the dividends.

irenel,

Anyone who buys the share before xd and holds it to xd will be entitled to the div. Even if you buy on 17 Nov (the last trading day before xd), you will be entitled to the div.

Nothing is stopping you from selling on 17 Nov but, if you do that,  you will not get the div... the buyer of your shares will. Why is it like that??? Cos, thats the way it is.

I think you got to hold until the date of XD itself. Selling any day before XD will not get you the dividends.

Hi shplayer

If xd is on 20 Nov, why isnt an investor allow to sell on 17 Nov, in order to qualify for div payment? 17 Nov is before the xd date.

Many thanks
