Hi novena_33

Thanks alot for your kind advice. Yes, I used to be a WB-like investor but no longer so since the subprime issue exploded on the scene last Aug 2007. My portofolio is 90% blue chips, STI-indexed stocks but I am developing a handle on when to enter/exit the market better. Afterall the prices of these blue chips can and do correct severely. I've learnt to let them go during a correction and re-enter at a later point in time. I'm still practising the ropes. I'm no prof but juz a housewife.

is very hard to time the market.......even the "pro" also make mistakes........ if u recall recently some invested billions also make big losses within months..........

so i dont encourage you to time the market.... i believe u need a different game plan ...... blue chip is alway safer .....

Thanks! This is indeed a good site that suit one of my requirements ..i.e. high yield.

I guess its never too old to continue learning...lets keep it going! Smiley

Old, yes but new timer. I'm learning the ropes on how to time my entry/exit points better. That's why need to spend more time on the web and reading books. The web is getting more useful these days for oldies like me who's too lazy to scrap things into 555notebooks.

Can look up this good site; http://yieldstocks.blogspot.com/

Farmer - Ooops. I mean year-end dividends expected at 22 cents. This counter usually drops after XD, twice a year cuz usually people collect for dividends only. I have this in my portfolio from the day I started work.........which was a long time ago.

22cts down at current level? Thats 4.30...I guess it maybe possible after XD. Are u vested in this counter too?

Anyway, all the 650m of Sky11 will eventually be realised over time and mgmt already mentioned that there's a slight delay in the project's construction but it will be resolved.

Take note of revenue recognition from Sky@Eleven. Farmer's projection could be right. I am hoping (maybe it's a rather vain hope) for 22 cents!

Revenue recognition to-date : S$111.6m

 4Q FY07 : S$71.3m

 1Q FY08 : S$16.1m

Expected project revenue > S$650m2Q FY08 : S$24.2m

Hoho! Looks like we'll all be like grandpas/grandmas by just getting involve in this stock!!!

So far, all brokers/analysts I came across recently have a Buy/Over/Outp rating with minimum TP of $5.00 or more. So, let's just continue to hold until the "cows come home" and wait for the FY divds award which I predict to be ~20cts...Cheers!

Ha, ha.......hmm......me, still only a mother but harbor long-term wishes to eventually be a granny.

Actually, an annuity gets cheaper when 1 buys it at an older age. So it's apparent why oldies luv this counter.

Yes, agree, $5.00 is fair value. Now that SPH has upped its mid-year dividend to 8%, I am expecting a break with its historical year-end dividend too due to property gains. Actually, the core biz is growing reasonably well. Of course, the ZhaoBao circulation numbers are very bad. Smiley

Hmm..... r u a grandmother yourself or to be...hehehe!

Anyway, Kim Eng had maintained a target price of $6.18 for the elephant, aren't they too bullish? To be fair, I would deduct $1- off their TP....Cheers! Smiley

Hi Farmer

Well said. It's truly an annuity stock. Oldies, including grandmothers like this counter.

Yes, this elephant is indeed "defensive" even at the current turbulence/volatile market conditions.

It's also called an "annuity" stock by some value investors due to high yield of ~5.8% base on last closing price of $4.50 - see attached data from Bloomberg

Lastly, it's an "old man" stock as many of its shareholders are already in grandfather status.....Cheers!
