STI should have a GREEN day today ... No let-up in volume so far despite Christmas coming. Let's see the volume today to confirm. But next week should be a quiet one ....

Hi iPunter,

No currently I don't do shorting. But I'm exploring the use of CFDs to do so now.

Hi giantlow,

I have the same idea as you that the Thai Military is trying to block Thaksin's asset. The Thai Military are also enriching themselves. They won't last long.

Singaporegal...

As a matter of interest, since you 'deal' in trends, do you do any shorting of certain counters?

My friends and I were discussing maybe the Thai military was trying to freeze Thaksin's assets by imposing these controls, but the plan backfired

Its a good thing that the STI closed up just 20 points. I prefer moderate gains to large explosive price movements. Large price movements are prone to subsequent painful corrections.

Buddies or not who wouldn't scramble out?  Better still, short the market first... :)

I think those who bailed out huge today in Thailand are Thaksin's buddies! A damn good excuse to slap the Thai military on the FACE!

Our economy is stronger now so much that our government dares to raise GST and up employer's CPF contribution soon .... STI going GREEN tomorrow at least by 1% back above 2,900 mark after the Thai's reverse control tonite despite a RED US market tonite (29?)

depends, sometimes the big boys may want the correction cond as to bottomed it so we the price can be lower? or they can just use this excuse for taking profit.. remember if there is no reason in taking profit... create one..

Catiously optimistic..

STI will be positive tommorow.

Dow may have a dampening effect but I believe the cause for the correction today no longer exists. There are more up-factors than down-factors for the STI at this point in time.

Dow is just correcting...

Not as big a problem as the possibility of extended bear-hug spooked Asian markets like earlier feared.
