Thanks, JJ.

I got it yesterday at 3.86, thinking it's a defensive stock . . should be safe . . . who knows drops so much today.

To Sell or to Hold? Hold till 3.20?? Any advice?

Hmm...this elephant refuse to back track, holding up strongly at $4 today even with >5% drop in FTSTI. I can safely conclude that it's one of the most defensive stock in SGX with good FY08 results to be delivered on Fri. Cheers!

It has always been holding well as it is known as a defensive stock. In fact, it was one of the first few stock whose price went up instead of down yesterday..... plus the fact that they will be announcing the dividends soon.Smiley

Home readers are only a small portion of the pie.   Some even goes to community club to read newspaper but do think about big corporations like those SME, MN company, private hospitals and hotels in Singapore.  Just my two cents worth.

Indeed! I'm one that prefer to read from the paper, esp. the advertisement for travel package, shopping, job applications....

The counter looking strong today, some X deal done close to $4 range. Good FY results & divds i suppose.

Well, not everyone will like to read from the web. Moreover, most of the companies will still order newspapers regardless of the price. To them it is a necessity. Besides, places like the libraries and many other stores etc. will still need them.

Smiley this is my opinion......

This refers to FARMER'S POSTING.

It is true that SPH is about to raise the prices of some of its publications. It is also true that salary is

rising, newsprint is also rising and in general, expenses are also rising. During this economic hard time,

it might not be a good idea to increase the prices of newspapers. One can easily access news websites

to obtain whatever news to satisfy one news needs. Furthermore it is free of charge.

Sometime ago, reading the Straits Times in the internet was free and then, SPH levied a $120 per year charge.

Due to this charge, I switched to reading other newspapers from the US, Britain and other Western countries to bring

me up to date with what is happening around the world.

This forthcoming increase in the retail price of some of SPH's publications might actually lower the readership. I sincerely hope that I am wrong in this. Smiley
