Well said! With US economy improving, tapering is unavoidable. In another words, good news is bad news and bad news is good news.

Bloomberg US. GDP
A government report today may show the U.S. economy grew more last quarter than previously estimated, fueling speculation the Federal Reserve may start this year to curtail bond purchases that have fueled global asset gains. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg project gross domestic product expanded 2.2 percent in the second quarter, up from the government?s earlier estimate of 1.7 percent.

 

Syria very little oil..... don't think US will action so fast.... look at History, ...Got Oil action fast, no Oil action slow.

 

IMHO, Taper will not be stopped as long as US is not affected by it.  They will not think too much on how it affects Emerging Markets.

The market is reflecting growing anxiety over a potential Mid-East crisis as US war drumbeats grew louder over Syria.  STI bounced off the 2,990 support level yesterday, which represents 50% Fibonacci retracement of the run-up from Dec 2011 to May 2013. After its steep 100-point drop over the past three days, the key index is likely to close the gap at 3,028, before resuming its downward trend.
