That John Murphy's TA book is 20MB size.

I bought it some 30 years ago when I was trading commodity futures at that time...

An excellent and heavy book... Smiley

Anyway, simply calling a book "stupid book" does not make it so...

especially if it's a really good book... Smiley

i don't think its a stupid book.

from the angle of  novice/beginner its ok .. how bad could it be as compared to Martin Prings Intro to TA or Dr.Alexandra Elders' Trading for a Living' ... each book will have thier merits ..

.. u can borrow the above books from the library or friends for free or look up free ebooks on the internet ... or look up various websites that deal with stocks and shares...

i am sure every beginner who is really interested to know the subject will look around ask around before deciding which book he wants to read. If he has access to internet the first logical step he would take is 'google it '

i am sure beginners in TA would not be beginners in every aspect of life .. lets give credit to their discerning powers ... i am sure they know what "Caveat Emptor "  means and surely they will excercise it !

maybe we should cool down on this particular topic ..

:  )

The last post is mixed with my comments...which are...

Trading is NOT just about having a trading system. Having a trading system is just ONE aspect of market activity.  It is simply a weapon one is using. In the hands of  an unsuitable person, there can be havoc created.

Whereas "The Genie Tutorials" (click to see it) is a more a character building manual in which a person is taught thoroughly how to handle the market with wisdom.

yammay74, if you can get a copy of Trading Edge, please read the article call Edge.  Its not everyday that an Analyst is kind enuff to tell you this sort of thing.

There is always a motive behind and also an edge they need to have against retail investors like us. Dont get push around.  Everyone out there is for him/herself wanting to make a quick buck.

I am also vested in CE. :p

STOP LOSS is one thing, in FOREX there is something call STOP MOVE or TRAILING STOP.  Again its a beautiful tool if the currency pair are trending. :)

A lot of people still preceive that FOREX is 'dangerous'. Yes its high risk becoz of the leveraging with the use of margin but if you are discipline and understand the risk involves in what you are doing, you should be able to make 'good' money on it. I trade the majors and two exotic currencies for years and sometime I wonder more people are interested in STOCKS then FOREX esp the TA people.  I am not using any paid platform like the e-Signal but rather one from the brokerage house which I think works fine for me.  I am more then happy to refer you but do have a look at www.fxcm.com.  Product support is the utmost important to me thus my choice with FXCM.  Feel free to do a LIVE chat with them as well. :)

Singaporegal, you should really try FOREX if you are a discipline TA trader.  Liquidity is always there.  Volume is never an issue and there is NO centralise market with the ability to control any currency pair.  Better still its 24 hours and you can trade all you want.  There is NO fundamental news except for the recurring monthly economic events which will sway the currencies. You can always start off with opening a mini-account of USD300 or play with the demo with live price until you are comfortable with the platform.  Really its big money out there if you have that discipline. :)

Hi Baseer,

Besides TA, one much also be on a lookout for news release like this one;-

STERLING RISES

Sterling erased losses against the dollar to be up 0.1 percent at a one-week high of $1.9634 after the Bank of England (BoE) quarterly inflation report signalled that rates would be eased only modestly.

Also, must pay attention to other FA news. Only then, you will be more confident to put on a trade.

Cheers.
