I think maybe they wanna enter at lower price . i think this share is so much undervalue! i shall hold on and hope to enter some more at the right time to average it out.
There are always manipulators in the market, but we're not sure of their intentions. Sometimes they want to drive price down, so they can enter more at a lower price. Or sometimes they may find it overvalue and want to cash out. I'm going to hold on until F& N/Thaibev release news on their offer.
I've encountered greater unrealized loss before on another counter and now it is my best unrealized gain.. Just have to hold if you think it is worth the wait.. But have to be careful and decide quickly to cut-loss when some big events on the company happens.
going down and down. i jus dun understand the logic behind it. Thbev has acquirred more n more shares in f&n. it seems good n positive yet Thbev shares doesnt goes up and goes down further..
How do you know the upcoming quarter is going to be good?

This upcoming THbev qtr earning if is very good also...
Yo ...it may help to give it a push also.......
Hope the F& N saga quick quick settled..... Cheers
Thanks skk888 for the information. If its over 50%, that will be great.
In their latest substantial shareholder filing, they have 32.4% or so from initial holding and open market purchases. Two other substantial shareholders just announced they dropped about 1% each in open market. If thaibev Tcc bought them, and with kirin, they already hit or close to hit 50% conditional offer. Lets watch out for the news the next days!

F& N shareholders won't lose from capital reduction
WE refer to Denis Distant's letter to the editor, " F& N Capital Reduction Debatable" (BT, Oct 3).
We believe that most investors would be aware that in the event of a payment of a significant dividend, the share price of a company is expected to adjust by the amount of the dividend when the shares trade ex-dividend, and shareholders do not suffer any additional loss in value arising from the dividend payment.
Similarly, in the case of a capital reduction through a share cancellation, the share price for the remaining shares that are not cancelled is expected to adjust accordingly to take into account the reduced number of shares when the shares trade ex-entitlement to the capital reduction, such that there is no net value lost to shareholders.
Hence, we do not share Mr Distant's view that Thai Beverage Public Company Limited (" ThaiBev" ) and TCC Assets Limited (" TCC" ) would be making a " 38 cent loss per share on a third of their 438 million shares" through the capital reduction, as the value of the remaining two-thirds of the shares would probably have adjusted such that there is no net difference between the market value of shares before the capital reduction and the sum of the cash distribution plus the market value of remaining shares after the capital reduction.
ThaiBev: Kindest did not gain at its expense
It says it wants to correct any potential misconception on the issue
By
KINDEST Place Groups did not benefit from its purchase of Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) shares to Thai Beverage's disadvantage, the Thai beer maker said yesterday.
It was responding to a media commentary it did not identify, to " correct any potential misconception" on the issue.
Kindest Place is owned by the son-in-law of ThaiBev's founder and controlling shareholder Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi. On July 18, ThaiBev agreed to buy 22 per cent of Fraser and Neave (F& N) for $8.88 a share, or $2.8 billion in total, from OCBC, Great Eastern Holdings and Lee Rubber Co
By singapore law, you have to make the offer once you have 30% shares. And 30% at the current market price, you need quite a bit of money to buy. Not really possible to keep quiet and buy it without financing, unless the person is an ultra billionaire. Using company to buy such big stake needs to be announced and we have not heard yet. Even if kirin and prudential sold to this person, they still need to buy about 15% from open market.
The motive is interesting, and lets hear from them after this process. :)

thanks shadowmoon. long wait ahead but will hold on! just hope all this wait will be worthwhile.
What happens if another group quietly purchase more shares and propose a buyout from Kirin and Prudential in order to control F&N cash holdings derived from sale of APB? Will the Thai group then accelerates the accumulation of F&N shares to control the company or eventually exit F&N to cash out huge profits after a profitable fiasco with APB? Interesting to guess the strategic motive of the Thai group

Yeah, once they hit 50% they can shorten the offer deadline. Lets see.
Don't enter more first....

As mentioned by other, if u can hold on longer abit, U may get more than what u vested.
Let monitor how the whole situation move. Cheerio
