0342 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: DBS Vickers raises SingTel (Z74.SG) target price to S$3.22 from S$3.05 to assume higher contributions from associates amid business rebound for Telkomsel of Indonesia, rising currencies of countries where telco operates. Notes AUD, IDR +10%-15% vs SGD in last 3 months. Raises Telkomsel's FY10 pretax profit forecast by over 10% on back of healthier revenue, margins; "pricing in Indonesia has started to recover in late 2008, following its downtrend due to an aggressive price war in 2007-2008." Adds SingTel can reap S$1.5 billion if it sells Optus fixed-line assets to Australian government in return for stake in country's national broadband network, another S$6 billion-S$8 billion if it relists Optus. Keeps Buy call. Stock off 1.7% at S$2.97. (FKH)

yeap. but now seems like correction. even defensive stocks seem to be on the downturn. although the price now seems fair to me with a dividend, i believe that i can get some at lower price. so probably i shall wait and see. hsi coming soon at 10am. maybe another round of rout.

UBS raised its recommendation on Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) to 'buy' from 'neutral', citing a positive outlook from its subsidiaries in India and Indonesia.
In a report published late on Monday the brokerage also raised its target price on SingTel to $3.38 (US$2.32) a share from $2.94 previously.
Timely news. Vested 10 lots today.

Southeast Asia’s largest phone company was upgraded to “buy” from “hold”, which cited “respectable” earnings growth and the stock’s “reasonable” valuation. The brokerage boosted the share-price estimate to S$3.30 from S$2.70
Disagree to some extent.. I think Singtel quite constant leh. Watching it for last 3 months no change like that.

Hope Stel own Aus telco, Optus n other local telco, may get some pies when project running in.

Looking at d wider perspective in stock investment, beside gathering realtime raw data, regional n global economic situation could be another factors to influence d current short or long term investment stretegy.
I presume u hv set your cut loss n profit margin, with ref to d market running trend.
With current gloomy market sentiment, u may run road in advance before d stock px reaches your pre-set cut loss margin. However, if u let it drop below bar, it may distort your pre-set invesment stretegy, a regret could be d consequence.
On d other hand, u may set higher for profit margin after it surplus your pre-set ones. Of course, ds will only safe under market uptrend situation loh.
