By forking out 10% of what he is prepared to pay for Liverpool FC, he can effectively be the majority owner of this established private education provider. Will he do so? Just need to keep on waiting, waiting, dreaming, hoping, praying ......... SINGAPORE: Singapore businessman Peter Lim has increased his all-cash offer for Liverpool Football Club.
The proposal represents a total investment of 360 million pounds, or nearly S$745 million.
The offer values the Club at 320 million pounds.
A further 40 million pound sum would be made available to purchase new players.
Like the previous offer tabled by Mr Lim, the new offer is made entirely in cash and will remove the entire acquisition debt of 200 million pounds taken on by the existing owners that has cast uncertainty over the Club's future.
Mr Lim said he was not obtaining any financing for the offer and the funding came from his own cash resources.
Commenting on his increased offer, Mr Lim said he respected and admired Liverpool Football Club, which is steeped in tradition and history.
He said he was committed to rebuilding the club so that it could regain its position at the pinnacle of English and European football, where it truly belonged.
Mr Lim said his offer paid off the existing owners' bank acquisition debt and also freed the club of its own bank debt.
If the board accepts this offer, the monies are available immediately thereby removing the threat of administration.
He said this would then allow the club to be able to focus on improving its performance on the pitch.
The 57-year-old former remisier king has extensive interests in a range of industries including agribusiness, fashion, logistics, food and beverage and healthcare.
He's also a keen supporter of sports.
Mr Lim recently donated S$10 million to the Singapore Olympics Foundation for sports scholarships that would provide promising young athletes a chance to pursue excellence, especially for students and athletes from poor families.

I don't know about you guys out there, but this neither here nor there movement is a pain. Even when the STI rallied over the past 2 weeks, Info just ding-donged. It's a pain when u c other counters making good gains, and yours stays put, and you just have to hold on till i don't know when...
