| Straits Asia's Q2 earnings down 43.3% |

Straits Asia has posted a 43.3 percent drop in second quarter net profit to 21.4 million US dollars from a year earlier.
It says the decline in earnings was mainly due to 14 million dollars of warrants expensed during the quarter as well as higher provisions and tax expenses.
Revenue for the three months ended June rose 8.6 percent to 175.6 million US dollars.
Straits Asia says despite the global economic downturn, it's well placed with production for this year as the prices for its orders were mostly negotiated in 2008.
And it has continued to supply its customers without a build up of stocks.
Looking ahead, the company says there are early signs that demand is on the recovery path as the contract negotiation period for 2010 sales approaches.

SAR seeing correction today. think my re-entry price at 2.01. any comments anyone?
well, i like to see 2.5...but use trailing stop will do the job of protecting your profit..
i thk 2.5 is a good px for now...try for this...but i thk it may correct prior to this.

Accepted your opinion with thanks though I don't knoe if you're sacarstic or really your views. Honestly, SAR has proved to be a good counter for investment earlier. Right now it might be either on the high or overbought. Checked its financial ratio and wondered why this counter can be such a super performer. SJ gives its financial as at 30June09 as: PE:15.9, quite reasonable for the sector, NAS/NTA: 29 cents, EPS: 11 cents all these ratios when the price was $1.71 cents. Today the price is 2.20 and therefore all the financials need to be recalculated.
So unless the figures were misguided, then I think this counter is overbought and highly priced. Thus beware.

Hi, I always make my own decision although sometimes get some news from the forums to see if there are any basis for going to make a decision. So even if you say sell, I might sell if I thought it is the right thing to do. But if its the wrong thing, I will most likely be a contrarian to what you are saying. Honestly quite a number of times you were correct, e.g the general market was bullish when many people never thought about it. But there also some counters you mentioned e.g. Biosensors, to be good, but it never move much. No offences intended. Hahaha.

Looking at the 3 yeras chart data,it is the cup with the left half formed but the right half still not even half formed, thus not too sure is it going to be a cup.
When a full cup is formed and done a downtrend slope followed by an uptrend slope, when this uptrend slope breaks above the brim of the cup, it forms the handle.

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly with u tat TA , analyst reports and even news are just a guide and are not infallibe,as noticed at times good news but mkt may still either go up or down (when down, news and analysts report will then say it is discounted already by the mkt), thus why must dyodd and set stop-loss n responsible for own trading actions, dun blame others for our own actions. |

I hope i am not abt to start another war here, chart and TA are base on what had already happen, trade that are already done, and they are use as a guide,,,,plain guide, to forcast the next most likely up or down move.
If chart and TA are so accurate, i believe those use TA and chart will agree, then analyst will be "gods".........they uses the most chart and TA..read up on analyst recommendation,,,......pay a fee and learn from them and follow their recommendation and be rich.........this forum is free....so it is useless.............and it is also dangerous.....you end up buying on ppl call....pls dont bother to come to this forum anymore....this forum may cause u to lose money....like some said here...
please dont be angry,,, i just say what i think from your posting......it is nothing, but just another blaming other people post.......
stock market perforemance are base on economic data, some of which are lagging and some of it are leading indicater....
