No, it is called "Shorting". Means sell high first, then buy back low.

Oic. Pardon for asking stupid question, if traded from 1.59 to 1.53 that means average out your trading? Cheerio.

Do you think it's time to buy now at 1.54 or still needs to observe further?

Genting has been trading in a channel between 1.50 and 1.60. This could be used as a trading strategy.

Pardon for asking, why it's sayang not to go in at 1.58 or 1.59? Shldn't it be lucky not to go in at this price since the price has dropped?

Just a gentle reminder that Genting is one of the 30 STI component stocks.

Although the STI still looks good,

if you take a look at all  the individual stocks on SGX,

This is why I totally ignore the STI  in my trading decisions... Smiley

Very bearish sentiments across the globe from Europe to America. Asia seems to be just barely holding it together but Singapore STI also down the last 2 weeks. Investors are running to safe havens like bonds and gold. We have to go into the market with all these factors in mind, if risk is too high, better to have a long holiday and come back in November....

 Just my 2 cents.

Dow Jones Big Plunge tonight

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The sale of existing U.S. homes sank 27.2% in July - the biggest one-month drop ever - largely because of the phase-out of a federal tax credit, according to an industry trade group. The National Association of Realtors said existing-home sales fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.83 million in July from a revised 5.26 million the month before. Sales of single-family homes fell to the lowest rate in 15 years. Inventories of unsold homes rose 2.5% to 3.98 million in July, representing a 12.5-month supply, the highest level since at least 1999. The median sales price edged up 0.7% in the past year to $182,600 in July, the NAR said.

No risk, no gain.

If you wan to be rich, u got to bet. Nothing is sure in this world.

The important thing is how u bet it.

Some people can bet till losing their mind.

Some people bet with strategy.

Like I said, she may need the money to buy a house, a yacht, a car. You will never know. Too early to reach a conclusion, and frankly speaking, 300 lots is not much.

Genting's stockholder revolt

KUALA LUMPUR - GENTING Malaysia shareholders backed the company's move to acquire the UK casino operations of Genting Singapore in a 340 million pounds (S$718 million) deal despite a large number of votes against.

Shareholder revolts in Malaysia are rare and 38 per cent of the stockholders voting disapproved of the move in the resolution put to Tuesday's extraordinary meeting.

'People wanted assurances over the next three years to come over Genting UK's profitability,' said Genting's deputy chairman Mohammed Hanif Omar. -- REUTERS

So it looks like a director sold 300,000 of her Genting shares at 1.59 today.  So one of the reasons why Genting went bearish? But frankly speaking 300,000 is not a lot, and may not influence market much. There could be many reasons why she want to sell, maybe she wants to get a new house? or a new yacht? Certainly, not because she lacks faith in Genting since she still has more than 500,000 genting shares.
