Looks like MR will be back to square 1 on Monday. This is strange as MR is always the favourite to win rite??
Will Price drop sharply on Monday?
Even if MR dosen't win in their tussle for PacNet, Vantage loses......total profit if they dispose all their stake is 2.9mil (if transacted in FY06)........what a waste of effort over the past 18 mths that came to nought. Dosen't reflect well on Vantage's management.
Sympathies to the long suffering minority shareholders who did not take the opportunity to 'take the money and run' when Mr. Kek made the general offer awhile back. This is another setback for relisting of Vantage.
Obvious play by big boys.... extremely large price increase with large volumes.
still can buy? any expert to advise?
gd news for mr, connect is vc, they will definitely sell @ right price. let see kbh in action soon again.

Asia Netcom parent to make bid for PacNet: source
TAIPEI - Connect Holdings, the parent of Asian telecoms network operator Asia Netcom, is preparing to make an offer for Singapore's Pacific Internet Ltd, a source close to the situation said on Friday.
Connect Holdings will offer between US$10 and US$10.30 per share for Nasdaq-listed PacNet, valuing the firm at more than US$120 million, said the source.
Shares in Pacific Net, an online services provider, closed at US$9.11 on Thursday in New York trading.
The offer would follow a recent failed takeover attempt of PacNet by Singapore-based Internet phone company MediaRing Ltd, whose US$127-million bid for PacNet failed last year.
MediaRing launched its unsolicited bid for PacNet in February with an offer of US$8.25 a share. It later raised that to US$9.50.
But the bid ultimately failed after MediaRing received only 33.8 per cent of acceptances from PacNet shareholders. It had needed more than 50 per cent to be successful but PacNet's largest stakeholder, Vantage Corp with a 29 per cent stake, decided to reject the offer.
This time Vantage has chosen to accept the bid from Connect Holdings, said the source. -- REUTERS

12 Jan 2007 14:07 CST DJ MARKET TALK: MediaRing On Way To Set New High -
Fraser
0607 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Heavy trading of MediaRing (M09.SG) today
augurs well for sustainable rally after consolidating around 31-36
Singapore cents in last 5 months, says Fraser Securities. Stock +12.5% at
36 cents midday with 60.8 million shares traded, which more than even
weekly volumes since end-August 2006. Fraser tips stock to test August high
of 39.5 cents, followed by 40 cents, 44 cents near term; says medium-term
technical indicators like weekly Bollinger bands, which have been
constricting since October, seem to confirm bullish breakout. Adds stock
likely to repeat early 2006 rally, which came after 3-4 months of weakness;
"this time, its rally could be stronger since it had been weak for a longer
time ... A test of the 6-year high of 53 cents should be seen again some
time this year." (FKH)

jackjames, no worries.
A win is still a win at e end of the day =)
Most important is, you are already holding the rewards.
Agree with your rule of thumb. Never turn profit to loss. +) Cheerios.
ihatcoy, I know I sold too early, what to do, I queue before I go for lunch. Today is friday, therefore, our lunch is long, while I reach office, someone told me it's going for 0.40 today, no chance to pull out. it was done. Anyway, I can't hold this counter as I got 60 lots at luzhou also, anyway, rule of thumb, don't loss.
wat's the nav? it could be takeover by big local telco???
may not be PI case, it could be another new business like pay-tv or other entertainment or maybe tie up with mediacorp? vested long time ago.
IF 0.375 is taken out, then you sold off too early. =)
seems like 0.37 support very firm.
