Kilroy bro....if the merger happens, what do you think the share price be worth? I am whipping out my BIG calculator soon, to see if it is worth waiting for the merger. I am covering all angles now....I think I will be more right than wrong (65%/35%)

The article below also raised my suspision on the merger. Why raise fare for bus only not the rail? Unless afterall they all ONE family. Also the article stated that SBS and SMRT had set aside $3Mil to help needy for the hike. BUT SMRT DID NOT RAISE FARE, why help?

I am beginning to feel the merger between Tortoise & "Too-Too" is getting more and more possible. Just a hunch. Decision will be made end of the year. Just thinking, our temtem had been all the while dying to diversify outside S'pore mkt. The Tortoise is a global company. If merge, temtem will have a share in the Tortoise and hence a share in oversea mkt. Also the Tortoise owns the SBS rail line. If merge, the Tortoise will hand out the line to "Too-Too" which will greatly benefit the "Too-Too". Although in return the "Too-Too" will hand over the bus and taxi business to the Tortoise, but these businesses is either breakeven or losing business in "Too-Too" term, plus it's a small piece of the overall rail business <5%. I may hold out my shares till the announcement date, although my intention is just for short term only. Shall wait, shall see. Invested heavily....1 lot...hehehe!

SINGAPORE: Adult EZ-link fares for buses will increase by between one and two cents from 1 October.

Senior citizen concessionary EZ-link bus fares, which are flat fares pegged to the lowest adult fare band, will go up by two cents.

But the Public Transport Council (PTC) has decided there will be no increase in train fares.

It said the public transport operators had applied for an increase in bus and rail fares in August 2007.

After deliberating on their proposals, it approved an overall fare increase of 1.8 per cent for bus fares, but no increase for rail fares this year.

The PTC added that the majority of commuters will see no increase or a small rise in fares.

Taking into account all public transport trips, five in ten trips will see no increase while one in ten trips will see a rise of one cent.

The remaining four in ten trips will see an increase of two cents per trip.

The last time the PTC approved an increase in bus and MRT train fares was in October last year when they went up by between one and three cents.

The government and the public transport operators SMRT Corporation and SBS Transit have set aside S$3 million in public transport vouchers to help needy families cope with the latest fare increase.

The government will draw down S$2.4 million from the Public Transport Fund, which was set up to provide help to lower-income households on their public transport costs. The public transport operators on their part have set aside S$0.6 million. - CNA/ir

I am done 1/2 @ 1.76 at about 15.41 & 15.42. Initially partial fill, I am like wah lau.

I entered into the system last evening when the close price is 1.74... .. I figured if DJ is good, SMRT will hit 0.02 cts up. This is typical of SMRT. So there.  Keeping the other 1/2 to test 1.80SGD

Kilroy, got extra $$ take a look at Genting. Trading in the very oversold region now (63¢). I suspect a surge is coming after rights issue is over. Can see stock over gap at 75¢ in the coming days/weeks. Very speculative one, grass move better run road..hehehe! Good luck.

Kilroy...your price target of 175/176 is close now. Intend to liquidate for kopi $$ or hold for the merger story to unfold at the end of the year? I might just hold on, will see how later, the mkt sentiment.
