Tiger Air in bad shape.. Captain jump ship coz its gona crash land!!

Management sells shares, many will follow.

Analysts: K Ajith/Eugene Ng Tel: +65 6590 6627

What's new
Tiger Airways CEO Tony Davis, sold 1,000,000 shares or 24.3% of his
holdings at S$1.42. This was below the issue price of S$1.50.

Stock Impact
Insider sales are never a positive but this is especially so if the
insider being the CEO, disposes of 24% of his current stake at below IPO
price. We reckon the cost of shares could be between S$0.08 and S$0.13
cents. This comes at a time, when Tiger Airways is:
facing difficulties in its planned JV with Thai Airways as the latter
has already indicated its plan to commence its own LCC operations.
(Tiger however has yet to make any official announcement regarding
the status of its JV)
facing hurdles in offering domestic Philippine routes on its
platform.
tough operating environment in Australia, which was loss-making in
the last quarter.

Recommendation
Except for a brief upgrade in March, we had been consistent sellers on
Tiger Airways since listing. The latest development lends further
confidence to our view. Our price target of S$1.32 is based on blue skies
scenario of high load factors (85.7%) and increasing ticket prices (+2.9% yoy).

No recovery signs for near term.

Bad news only so far.

How to fly..

Good luck to those vested at $2 above.

TigerAir should gave a clear explanation of why their pilot training standards slipped and what short cuts on maintenance. The below is not enough to boost up confidence in this airline. They cannot cut corners just because it is budget airline. No one is going to risk their life to take this airline. Hope they can give a clear explanation soon.

> > Given the fact that Tiger Australia has been allowed to continue operating normally means the issue has been resolved and the airline has > > been able to satisfy CASA’s concerns but we find the whole issue rather unsettling.

Unless show cause proves to be satisfactory, earnings likely to fall due to lack of confidence travelling Tiger Air.

Can someone tell me will TigerAir failed after a few months later just like Ansett which also received a smiliar warning in 2001??
