The result of your transaction will tell the story.

"if the company continues to make profit in the following few quarters to report, then good chance for investors even with consolidation."
This is what I am looking at(Long Term). To those not familiar or don't wish to read reports from SGX. Please do. I have faith in the management team. I believed they did the right thing by selling loss making sub and focus on what they need to do to be profitable... I definitely using my CPF to long... Yes, I not seeing any GOOD results(1Qtr no count) and *stupid* to buy in when others are selling.... Lets give this counter a chance...

Sunmoon not likely to consolidate shares as there are outstanding convertible bonds not matured. The bonds if I can remember is 0.5 cents convertible to one share. Maybe the holders of the bonds could have converted and sold off their shares. If this is so, I think price can go up since no more big chunk selling. The only worry is that too big amount of shares in free float. Basing on my argument below, if the company continues to make profit in the following few quarters to report, then good chance for investors even with consolidation.
JMHO.
It is a double edge sword and it cuts both way.
Many of the sifus here are to forewarn those who think that the price of the stock is now at the lowest (0.005) it can not go down any further. This can be wrong if they do the consolidation as mentioned by others in the previous few messages. So do your homework.
BOSAYOR

Some fears about consolidation are not well founded, although it might be true that investors may stand a good chance of losing money, but don't forget that the same applies to making money. In addition, the advantage of consilidation should not be overlooked while fearing lost of money via manipulation by market sharks who see the more fleshy (pricey) contents of the share price. The manipulation cannot stand if the company is making good profits. A company not in the profit zone is likely to have its share price manipulated (sold down).
For counters with a large free float of shares in the minority investors' hands, a consolidation will offer the investors the ease of selling their stocks in the market. Imagine the huge quantity of millions of share waiting in the queue when you just want to buy 10 or 20 lots. You practically have no chance at getting the better price in the bid and offer at the market.
Consolidation reduces the free float and increases NTA per new share and thus did not change the book value of the investors' holdings. In fact if a company starts to make money, consolidation will benefit the shareholders as improved confidence will support the share prices. Having said all, I believe a consolidation for a loss making company is detrimental to the share investors.
DYODD.
I suspect that very soon, Abeterra will also consolidate their share. Because they have large float and can't move much. so their management will think that in order for the large trade to stop and move higher, they have to consolidate their share. Usually in share consolidation, you loose at least half the value....
Because the price will be higher after consolidation, but you total value before the consolidation remain.
Soon due to the higher price gap up after consolidation, the price will start falling...many steps.......to a point of stabilty..that would like be the 50% mark after the consolidated price.
thats a sad fact. and it happens over and over for company that have large floats.
Due to the forsee lost...its best to let it go before consolidation to avoid huge lost...
When the pennies "Cheong Arrrhhh!!!", everyone chase it high-high...
Then they go "pok!" a few months down the road...
(They bet the rocket has some more fuel still)...

Just have to treat it as GONE and if it come back with something then take it as bonus. This will take away the stress for thinking hard every now and then, might as well as write off and move on.
Penny counter that paint a very beautiful picture to attract retail interest is good.. But to deliver the result is other key for stock to jump...
High risk = high gain. No consistent div, do not use cpf to buy..
Check whether there is a very strong interest from insider.. If they hardly buy, may not merit a response...
Retail investor usually get caught into the stories and suck in.. But there are exception...( watch out for sharks in pennies counter)
