Chartered Q2 views

A trader reasoned that Microsoft has just cut its orders to TSMC and since CSM has about 20% of sales to Microsoft Xbox, it could be next in line to be affected.Overnight poor results at Micron Tech was a drag along with a downgrade by a US broker; cutting its price target from $1.60 to $1.25. 

 

down another 6 cents today

 

Have not been able to do well for many quarters. I will continue to avoid.

 

still downtrending lah... no end in sight.

maybe the stock is sentimental about its penny stock times... haha...

 

Why this fascination with Chartered? It is the same with Creative. Maybe because these two used to be priced very high. There so many good stocks out there and the price is lower than Chartered. I just feel Chartered is just a "sentimental stock" 

 

Wah .... Chartered down 6 cents to 1.32 today!!! *Sigh!

 

I agree with Livermore and Bullrun. I don't think its a feasible long term investment.  Do not have an impressive track record.

 

Chartered announced producing new transceivers for optics.... shipping 2007.

Chartered will be getting good sales this year from AMD and Xbox .....

Yup, it did badly and hurts many 3 - 4 years ago. But its payback time this year.

I am in Chartered this year due to AMD's war with Intel and Xbox's war with Sony new PS launching this Nov for Christmas. Shiok!

 

but this year it seeems like there are gd sentiments on this counter... i.e. AMD... XBOX...

don know if it will go up again.. guess only time tells.

 

Chartered could be rated a buy if they can make up for their losses but it is hard to see that happening as the semiconductor boom days are over. It currently has no value to its p/e and that could be the same for the next 3 years.

But then again not everything makes sense on the market as it is manipulated by humans. Even "analysts" can still call it a buy. As long as one can make some money in "hit and run" method, that is also good.

 

Better avoid this company. Couldn't see any value in it. This company always like to raise funds to coverfor losses made quarter after quarters. Recently, managed to make some peanuts profit......but how long can this last?

 

With a loss of $1 billion, fundamentally Chartered shares has no value. But good sentiments always move it up

 

Billywows, ya.. guess greed always there... me too.. i was looking at $1.9 also... but it jus never hit there... sigh... well me abit more optimistic.. hope by Q3 will reach 1.9... hahaha

Statschp? actually most of the time.. both CSM & STATS seems to be moving together (either direction)... so if u smell CSM choeng to $2.. then stats will prob up some where also..

btw, u in the semicon industry now is it?

 

Ralphguy, I had Q to sell at 1.92 that week (when it was at 1.85 high) .... It was greedy cos I though it would hit 2.00 lah then! *Sigh!!! Nvm, me looking forward to Q4 now ..... Can smell 2.00 - just be patient.

By the way, I just got in some StatsChp shares. Good deal below 1.00 now (my guess).

I don't know @ u my army days were great.... lots of happy memories & fun..... but not while u were in the thick of it..... !!! Happiest days were after u get your "pips" & can bully the "enche" (RSM/CSM)......... right.....!!!!

 

nope... not now.... used to be.....in the air force.... supposed to fly the super sonic planes.... too bad.... my flying & landing was terrible... my instructor said it's safer to keep me on the ground than up in the air.... I might do some funny stuff... and he wanted to come back in 1 piece..... hehe..........!!!????

anyway, those were the great days.... i had the good fortune to mingle wth those guys from the BLACK KNIGHTS aero team (in air bases)..... anyway i still have access to their messes.... not all lah...... so if u plan to meet me 1 day @ the mess why not.... can be arranged.....!!!

now i regret didnt exit during that time...... now hoping the Q2 outcome will help abit and till end of 06.. reach target of $2.
