More and more people are buying at 1.73.
So, these people are definitely not selling their shares to CapitaLand, right?
Any comments?
Thanks for your reply shplayer...
I guess so too, but let'shope for the best.
Cheers!

better to take the deal by Capitaland...save the brokage fee and GST
limhpp,
There is always a chance of shareholders accepting the offer will also be entitled to divvy......but this is up to the offerer.
In my humble assessment, given the current market condition, I see no reason for the offerer to be generous to sweeten the deal.
caveat emptor
shplayer,
Are you saying we still got chance to get our dividends?

Fairygal,
Sorry, did not see your earlier post.
Whether you get the divvy with the 1,73 depends on the timing of the offer......whic, by the way, is controlled by the offerer. So, you'll have to wait for the details of the offer to find out.
Fairygal,
Divvy will be announced together with the FY07 result before 0730 hrs 25 Jan08.
Ya, there is also 100 lots done at $1.73....

I noticed that the BUY/SELL price this morning all up by 1 cent.
Ya. Based on their announcement, you will discharge yrself of any claim after you accept their offer price. Their divvy paid in May is usually announced in March or April. I think for this type of volatile market, offer price is ok le. The other counters all diving south.
shplayer,
Thanks for your reply.

Fairygal,
I doubt we will get the dividends if CapitaLand is paying us in 1 or 2 months time as Ascott usually payout dividends in May.

shplayer,
Under this type of general offer, they pay you say in this case $1.73 and that's it right? No more candies attached will be due to sharehodlers like divvy right? ie we have no more claims over whatever good that may come along?
limhpp,
FY06 - i.e. last year - divident was 6.0 cts (tax exempt).
shplayer,
If it is a matter of 1or 2 months I am willing to wait. By the way what is this 6.0ct Tax exempt you are talking about?
Thanks!

limhpp,
Depending on your cash requierments and the opportunities it presents if you receive it earlier, the 1-2 cts plus brokerage may not be too significant. Perhaps what will be more significant is whether sales in the open market now will deprive you of the 07 divvy.....FY06 divvy was 6.0ct Tax exempt.
Just something to think about.
Than I will need to sell at a lower rate than 1.73 and pay for brokage as well. hehe....

but you could sell now and get your cheque in 4-5 days.
It will stated on the letter of offer
Fairygal,
After receiving the letter, if we opt to sell to capitaLand when will we receive our money?

Thanks!
Letter should be out after the announcement of results scheduled on 25 Jan 08. We should be receiving it a few days after 25 Jan.
