Market is irrational at times. That is why we have to pay attention to market sentiment for the counter besides the economics foundamentals. Certain counters are known as punters' favourite and they will chase the shares even the figures are not very impressive.
just wonder why they push up the price today with the bad results of cosco ..... any reason ..... since open and keep buying up ....
the volume is huge !!! especially at price of 1.34 - 1.35 ..... after market turn soft..... this stock start to dive .... wont the buyer losing money
to keep dumping it ????
i saw all the broking houses report..
either Sell, underweight or neutral..but those Bbs pushed the price up..
unscrupulous..!
AmResearch in an Aug 4 research report says: "Cosco’s 1HFY09 net profit of $70.2 million was within expectations, accounting for 39% of FY09F’s earnings at $178 million and 40% of consensus estimates at $174 million. Annualised, Cosco’s 1HFY09 was 21% below our FY2009F earnings. Cosco registered a 67% y-o-y drop in net profit in tandem with a 19% contraction in revenue to $1.4 billion.
"The group’s 2QFY09 net profit rose 12% q-o-q to $37 million despite relatively flat revenue mainly due to reversal of trade receivable impairment. While Cosco’s weak execution progress in shipbuilding - due to the early stage of the learning curve for the group is a concern - we have been reassured by management’s view that the 11 vessels scheduled for delivery by November this year remains on track. Fair value of $1.50 per share - based on FY2010F’s PE of 17x - which implies a 15% discount to Cosco’s three-year average PE of 20x. MAINTAIN BUY."

Base on the collection pattern 2 lots each and the volume.... I'm believe it will move higher as this is another laggard..
lots of collection at $1.35 is on going
lai liao...
cosco had make a net profit S$37.0 million. Also the order demand had been coming back.... this will be sure as economic start to be more stable. Plus the container rate will be increase on sep 2009 this will further the profit. Cheong Ah !
Anybody know why Coscorp's price is up ,not down despite the Q2 result not so good?
yup 20K ain't ur auntie uncle playing
Cosco volumes just surged and price hit a peak of 1.37.
BBs are at play.
A terrible result and more coming when they deplete the order book. SELL
Ya lo no logic... NOL red red still up up... Cosco no fish got shrimp better than nothing!
When Cosco go up, YZJ and JES will follow also...........................
Don't be surprised tomorrow go up
hehe...paisay....i think my wording abit "kua zhang".....hehe....
I'm sure that the drop in profit was already factored into the closing price today. BBs usually have the news before retail players and have already made their move. There's nothing to worry about.
