I reckon the price move till this stage it was becos not many people willing to 'hold' this share, they likely to let go when price hit thier targe , buy again, let go , buy again , let go again........hence, price move so fast speculatively.
Financials hit by European bank debt concerns
Shares of casino operator Genting Singapore (GENS.SI) were up 1.7% at $1.84 after a foreign broker raised its estimates for the Singapore casino market size by 20%, a local trader said.
Genting on bull run
The last few weeks saw casino operator Genting Singapore regularly hitting new all-time highs.
Since August 13, following the release of the company’s positive second quarter earnings — just before parent company Genting Berhad’s August 26 announcement that its second-quarter profit more than tripled — the stock price has risen from $1.28 to $1.80 in three weeks.
With the Singapore Grand Prix taking place later this month, the stock is fuelled by speculation that earnings would increase this quarter.
Macquarie Research Equities recently raised its 12-month target price on Genting Singapore from $1.60 to $2.10.
Investors who hold the same bullish sentiment may wish to leverage on their view through Genting call warrants.
Call warrants would allow investors to potentially earn a profit when an underlying share price rises.
Genting Singapore is currently the second best performer on the Straits Times Index over the past 12 months, surging approximately 63 percent, compared with the benchmark STI’s 16 percent gain.
If you hold the view that Genting Singapore has seen its near-term high and that the stock is poised for a pullback here, you may wish to consider a Genting put warrant.
Put warrants allow investors to potentially earn a profit when an underlying share price falls.

ya i saw that too. thats why i feel it will drop back down to 1.7x soon then climb up again. it is a up down up down pattern. depending on the price high, once it drop 10 cents from it i will enter again.
IE 1.89, when correction happens i will enter at 1.79. thats just me. playing safe.

Hopefully u r correct. I noticed that Genting briefly reached a peak of 1.83 last thur. Then it fell back to 1.76. But on Friday it rised to 1.78 and mantained till mon. Yesterday rised to 1.81. Today reached a peak of 1.85. So what's going to happen next? Continue to cheong??? Or fall back??
