Got rich ppl travel by helicopter to Genting Highland's (malaysia) casino, why not here? Can lar, if garment say ok to do so, But , opens up to threat and probably the biggest safety issue here.

I doubt if the IR or casino will be severely affected. Universal Studios will still be the attraction for youngsters although they may have to cough up a bit more to donate to our public transport companies for their enjoyment.
It's the other attractions at Sentosa that will feel the loss without this free transport, as it was in the past.
Gamblers have not been deterred by FREE stuff. Before the IRs came to existence, ppl still make their way to the harbour for their cruises and to Batam, right?
So this whole issues of scrapping the free transport affects MANY others than just those few uncles and aunties. It's like throwing away the whole basket for transporting eggs just because there was a rotten or cracked egg in it. They could have just alight the passengers at the IR, away from the casino.
So the question now the authorities have to decide is if it is alright for the passengers to alight/board just before the entrance/exit of the IRs. Note: Resort is not just casino, there are MANY others who want to enjoy the other attractions.

Besides this coming qtr result may not be strong due to 7mth festival. Normally this period they will not fair well in their revenue.
definately there will be some effect on player like those old uncle & aunties & those middle range workers.
They may feel the effect............
Anyway, government main reason is to reduce local ppl & ppl working here to get too much involve in gambling.

aiyo...how to do business ? Very difficult environment , this cannot, that cannot.... no wonder genting SP not earmarked for groups future bids in Japan, korea, Taiwan and Phillippines and Macau.... Genting HK might have more potential then?

$100 levy is for government not for RWS. Anyway, I think RWS may try to boost their share price come Monday in order to shake off the bad news about the buses. But in my opinion, no big deal. Singapore is only so big.

MCYS to take action with Casino Regulatory Authority on shuttle services
Free shuttle bus service between the heartlands & RWS
SINGAPORE : The Ministry of Community development, Youth and Sports has announced late Thursday night that it would be taking action with the Casino Regulatory Authority to stop shuttle services provided by operators of the two integrated resorts.
MCYS said the formal directive would be issued Friday.
The announcement came amid Resorts World Sentosa’s (RWS) decision late Thursday to stop free shuttle buses plying through the housing estates.
In a statement released late on Thursday night, RWS said it was "voluntarily withdrawing its shuttle services in the spirit of collaboration with the Singapore Government".
However, the buses running through the Central Business District, Orchard and Marina areas will continue.
As of Thursday afternoon, demand for the shuttle service was still strong.
Some passengers even had to wait for the next bus.
Passengers at the Bishan and Bedok pick—up points told Channel NewsAsia the shuttle service made it convenient for them to get to Sentosa.
Of the 10 people our news team approached, two were headed for the casino.
The Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports had said the integrated resorts operators "will not be allowed to target the local market or provide incentives in any form for Singaporeans to patronise the casinos". — CNA /ls/wk
